So far there does not appear to be a viable component for a Like button.

I've enjoyed seeing more people interacting instead of just pressing a button.
Nice to actually read comments when folks like a post :)

I get that, and I agree, but sometimes I like to use a like button just to acknowledge that I, well, like, and appreciate the post and the effort etc, but have nothing constructive to add :)

Since when do we require posts to be constructive?

I think I missed that memo....

Why was the button introduced in the first place then?

That is how the forum was before the "like" button was introduced.

I don't think the like button deterred people from posting. I do think it enhanced the forum in that it allowed people to acknowledge that they enjoyed a post or picture. It also I think led to less clutter in threads with pictures for example ,  rather than quoting a post with a picture in it you could like it and the person who posted it new it was appreciated.

I do hope that some effort will be made to find a way to get it to work with the new software. I'm not tech savy but it seems odd to me that it can't work with updated software. Lots of other forums have a like button. For example two of the guitar forums I belong to have it.

Anyway thanks for listening and I do appreciate all that goes into making the forum run.

Hey I loved the like button! I had nearly 7800 likes and gave out probably 4X that to new members, for great pics or just to let someone I appreciated them posting and being here with us.

Maybe that hate me now a few people here
but I'm not a fan of babbling.

The Like button was a small tool to to reduce the "friendly spam".

For example, a "test, please ignore" thread lives from babbling.
But there are many threads where good images or information are the essence.
But this essence is lost in hundreds, thousands comments to.
It takes too much time to pick out interesting from thousands of empty replies.
Pity about the good content.

And the number of likes in proportion to the number of postings
was an indication of the quality of a member.

I hope the Like button come back.
If you want to be happy, be.

Just saying, I never went back to see if any of my posts were liked however if someone posted then I read it.

And with that said, there is activity happening out the back.
