It's a neat job mate. :tu:  What was the idea behind the chop?  Shorter length or new tip shape?

Would Mora ever take a page from Enzo's book and start offering kits to go with their blanks?

Kansbol multi mount. (Braces for the pitchforks) I'm having doubts about his knife. Cost, materials used for the sheath but mainly the blade.

This is what I mean, the kansbol is twice price of the companion heavy duty and it's blade is 2.5mm reducing to 0.78mm

The companion hd is over 3mm over the full length, ignoring the bevel in both cases.

Sorry for the really bad photo.

It just seems to me that Mora are producing new models without looking at what they already produce and charging eye watering prices for them.

Now I love my moras, but some of the new ones are leaving me cold. I do like the Garberg for example, especially now the price has come down to something a lot more reasonable.

I'll get me coat

I thought so too but was wrong.
There was a pine down over the track that I'll have to go back and sort with a larger blade.
Normally I would have a larger blade with me but decided at the last minute to carry more food instead.

I haven't seen any of the newer gen gear in person but purely from a design ideal of keeping things simple the multi sheath thing just isn't appealing.
Not saying I wouldn't use it or couldn't make it work.
Anyway, shops here don't stock them and online retailers want a kidney for them so for the moment I'll just look at the pics.

Agreed. Although I don't really seem to be finding much use for my "standard" ones either.  I always seem to grab a different knife

Heavy duty work - DuPlessis Warthog

Dirty work that might damage a good knife - Nowills Seaman

Food prep when hiking/camping - CS Roach Belly or Boker+ TUF

General cutting use - Iisakki Jarvenpaa Jatkanvuolu

Larger "do everything" knife - Muela Jabali

My HiVis Companion sometimes gets carried as a "just in case" when I go out for a walk, but hardly ever gets used. The Miki lives in a box of other knives, and occasionally gets taken out to see if there's any rust yet

Why would you need to get a coat? Being a fan and being realistically critical is not mutually exclusive. Actually it makes us even better. There are a lot of Mora knives I'd like to try but not a whole lot I'd step over my mother to buy. Considering our likes and dislikes (because who cares about needs) and our economic possibilities, it is ok that we are drawn towards different designs
