I'm not sure if this post is in the right place or if it should be in the "Deals & Auctions" forum.

Anyone in the UK looking for a Mora Viking 660 in blue (I'm not sure if they ship international).
£8.50 free postage.

I've not had any dealings with this company before but it looks like a bargain. :tu:

If they've really still got them then they must be some of the only stock in the country.  Great find Dave and a Mora well worth picking up IMO.

Hello! I'm finally able to join this sensible club! Here's my 2017 511 Carbon that I bought for $11. It just went through 2 hours of exposure in vinegar. I'm now trying to convince my wife to use this as her kitchen knife

I'm happy

Is this considered as a traditional knife? Or only the wood-handled Moras?

I guess the classic range is of a more traditional style  :tu: but all good ,my personal favourites are the classics as great for carving and compfy in the hand as can hold them closer to the blade and at any angle due to barrel shape  :tu: and yes you need one

Welcome to the club.

Finally started testing that big Mystery Mora. So far I like the almost 5 inch. Cuts like a Mora, but with more range

Guys, I'm really liking my Basic 511 Carbon, and so does my wife who uses it now regularly in the kitchen. She really likes how sharp it is.

It has a patina after being soaked for 2 hours in vinegar the day I got it.

Now it has some red spots. Are these rusts or just blood stains? Sometimes after use, she just washes the Mora with water and after air drying it, puts it in its sheath. Sometimes when I'm in the house I put mineral oil on the blade.

Sorry for the crappy pics

Doesn't look like rust to me, but you can take a bit of steel wool to it if you want to be safe. Stropping with a compound might work too, not sure how aggressive those compounds are though

I think it is rust.  I'd avoid air drying it after washing and that should solve your problem.

I'll try the steel wool route.

Good thing about this is I'm now thinking of getting an SS Mora :D

Sorry for the noob question: rust in knife is not good for food prep, right? Should we then oil the Mora immediately after washing?

Oil sometimes perhaps, but I'd just clean it directly after use and wipe it dry. :)

I did check out some of their kitchen knives over at Amazon and was surprised to see how more costly most of them are. Now I'm looking at simply getting an SS version of the 511...
