The Mora goes with me every camping/fishing trip since I got it, Coughlangs ferro rods are so cheap I would rather replace the ferro rod at this point and not have something fiddly.

That leftover ferro rod will be used elsewhere  :salute:

As mentioned this is the 3rd ferro rod so far

as long as it gets used up. might not make for a bad emergency tinder. if you could scrape it slowly without causing an ignition, and mix those shaving with something that can extend a flame for a bit like fatwood shavings or guitar pick shavings, you would have a serious backup plan in case of bad juju

Cheers mate, my youngest in the picture loves my stuff , she likes whittling and making stuff, due to funds we only go camping on holidays and only usually only twice a year, they both love it , and my youngest even told me a few weeks back that although she would like to go on a aeroplane to another country, she would still prefer our camping trips as we have fun ,tbh it's the only type of holiday they know  :tu: they have skills that not many 10-11yr olds have  :tu:

Knives, fire, great scenery, flint and steel, PBR, pretty much the making of a mini series.  Oh and the hawk and what appeared to be a Bahco saw.    :tu:

Believe it or not, the saw is just a cheap Coleman. But I have used it for about 5 years so far. Cuts pretty good and has not broke yet.

I also have a cheap saw.  I sharpened the teeth up and it chews wood like a rabid beaver.  Mines a Corona that I picked up for $2 at the flea market.  I have wanted to try a Silky boy but haven't pulled the trigger since mine works so well.  Nice sheath BTW for the saw.

Do you have to go far to get into such a great area?  I'd have to drive about 1.5 hours away to get into such an area.  It'd be nice to be able to "get away" more often.

Cool video mate. 8)  Glad to hear you're loving the Kansbol as much as I do.  Neat idea with the two diagonal sticks to lift your "smalls" bundle as well, I'll need to give that a go sometime. :tu:

I don't have far to go at all. I live out in the sticks. Just walk pass some fields and I am in like sin. We do have some nice state parks close also that are close. About 30 minutes away.
