Found a terrific use for the Flair at work, Box Cutter. Don't have to go flashing the knife blade off either. Flip out the Can Opener and ziiiiiiiiiip!

Was headed to work this evening when the right rear tire separated at 60 MPH ...  :ahhh

Managed to get the tire swapped out to a real spare that I've carried in the back for quite  few years. The back molding and hard plastic mud guard got beat up too and lost the main keeper. So grabbed some bailing wire and used the Leatherman Flair to help twist-tighten the wire, cut, and bend it back out of the road.

Got the rear end back together and got home safely, though I stuck to the old highway. Was a prettier and less hectic drive home. :D

It needs a file and it be a decent go-to all-around tool. Leatherman would of had to flare out one side to accommodate one, though not sure if having a wider bottle assist would be a good thing
The scissors are odd, and one could use the flipper for a catapult! And the knife a lot of serration on it. Probably for tough sausage & foil cutting purposes.

There are improvements that could be made but would end up being like a Fuse or Blast model then ... which would not be a bad thing. I like it for its simplicity, though I really do miss the file for fingernail grooming and other daily routine tasks.

Good points, unfortunately one can only add a file if you sacrifice the corkscrew. And that May not be a bad thing if you add a decent SAK with a corkscrew to an EDC carry.
The scissors are the same as the PST II and the original Wave, I do like them. One my one I swapped the blade out with a PST blade and that works much better for my requirements. For the record, I have swapped a few PST II blades with PST blades, I am not a fan of part serrated blades. They do work well for their intended purpose, but not My requirements.
I have to agree on file requirements, I would add the diamond file to every Leatherman, they are so very handy!!!

Cheers,

Pete

Does this make me a redneck for using bailing wire as a fix-er-up or must I also use duct tape?

Another late night & arguing with the computer and internet. Think I eradicated the massive stalling that was holding stuff up.

Had Chicken, green beans, yellow pepper, white onions for lunch. Totally forgot the potatoes I bought yesterday - lot of them being the purple variety.

Opening a flimsy can of green beans

Brunch - Started off with mostly cloudy skies, so put the thermometer inside the GoSun. Eventually the Big Guy upstairs gave me a break and the sun started shining through. Took about 3 hours though, then heard the thermometer beeping. Knew it was done then!

Haven't used every tool on it yet. The spreader hasn't had much use as I've been using a wooden spreader that I keep in the fridge. Got two free wooden spreadera, gave one away to a cook friend and she too prefers hers over the metal ones. :D

Used the can opener again last night. Still prefer the SAK can openers, would like to put on my ReCharge TTi. Guess I can buy a bottle of something tonight and use the bottle opener, or have I done that yet?

Added a screw to a computer hutch. Have all kinds of Everquest 2 stuff scribbled all over it. Used to mean something once, now I look at the scribbles and laugh at how engrossed I was in the game once ... when it still made sense.

Saw a greyed-out dragon on Pokemon Go so went for a walk. The bugger vanished on me after hiding somewhere close by. Walked back home and wanted something cold to drink. Went to open the tab and all my fingernails are broken and I couldn't get a grip. So... whipped out the Flair's lever tool, got 'er done. :D - Taking a photo though... yeah....

I love this thread Mate!!!

You may have to start a separate thread with some the scrumptious recipes we see here.

Apart from the food focused "tools", how do you like the Flair in general?

Pete

It needs a file and it be a decent go-to all-around tool. Leatherman would of had to flare out one side to accommodate one, though not sure if having a wider bottle assist would be a good thing
The scissors are odd, and one could use the flipper for a catapult! And the knife a lot of serration on it. Probably for tough sausage & foil cutting purposes.

There are improvements that could be made but would end up being like a Fuse or Blast model then ... which would not be a bad thing. I like it for its simplicity, though I really do miss the file for fingernail grooming and other daily routine tasks.

Good feedback.  A Flair is the one retired tool I want, but haven't tracked down for a price I'm willing to pay yet.
