Had a burger, shake, fries, and an apple pie at a local Burger King after work today. Was a mini-celebration of sort, on a job well done. Well... as things were I got no fork. Sure, could of went up and asked for one, but this was a challenge for the Flair fork!

Created a wire alignment/positioning tool and needed to bend the wire with the Flair's pliers a bit more. So put the Leatherman Flair in the photo since it did help readjusting the wire tool positioning system for me.  :D

Since I started this on the 9th, that leaves me one more day to be a successful 30 Day Retired Tool Challenger, aye? :viking:

For some reason I cannot attach a photo on this new S4. MTO server says my post keeps timing out.

First it complained file was too large,  so bought an image resizer. Now it says that the message timed out and I cannot seem to get rid of surfing bug.

Let's see if a text will post....

Took me nearly 30 minutes to post one photo. Ran past my allotted break period. /Grr

Seems if a photo name is too long or has too many numbers and hyphens the photo won't get posted. Have to find me an image resizer as copying a screen shot on this new Samsung S4 saves st 1.5MB.
Had tries an Xnview Pro but I still could not part a photo so I got a refund thinking the program was at fault. Now a normal screenshot did post. Is where I drew the conclusion of the photo names from the various ones I tried posting.

Thanks. Was cutting a nectarine with the Spreader, but man that got messy fast. The meat still wouldn't release from the pit and I had no napkins - thus no photo...

Am considering carrying  PST though the scissors occasionally come in handy. Even today the fuzzy velcro tab on my knee pads was shredded. Had to give both pads a shave so the tabs would function again.

Think am going to look around for a PST II to EDC, for file and scissors. But... I wish I could modify a PST or PST II with the Flair end, with the Can/Bottle Opener. I use that part the most, for cutting tape on boxes and opening tabs on beverages.

If had my way, would make a PST II with a Flair Can/Bottle Opener on the end, and stick in a SAK Push Can Opener inside of the OEM cab opener. Need to have an awl in there too.

G'Day,

Congrats on the badge, I thoroughly enjoyed this thread!

You have a couple of options to add the Flair bits to the PST / PST II. You will need the longer curdled screw  that goes through the can / bottle opener to attach it to a PST / PST II. I had a quick look at a Flair and PST and they have the same diameter for the handles on the outside - no problem there. There is a gap on the back of the handle where the can / bottle opener "pressure" bit goes onto the back of the internal tools. You will have to do some filing and sanding if you want to bolt it on to a standard PST / PST II carcass. The other option it to split the Flair and PST each in half and bolt the two halves back together with the tools that you want. That will be a cool mod though. One thing to bear in mind when you want to swap some internal tools around is that the Flair small flat screwdriver is about half the width of the one in the PST and PST II. The spreader knife and the small screw driver together makes the thickness of the PST / PST II small screw driver. It is easier to add the PST / PST II bits into the Flair carcass.

I kept looking for a Flair with a broken cork screw, they are much cheaper than a good condition one. I did not want to mod a perfectly good Flair, they are to dear to do that.

I'll be glad to help or take additional pics of the one I have.

Cheers,

Pete

Am still EDCing the Flair a lot for both jobs, though would rather be carrying the Charge TTi.

Was fitting a bracket to a water bottle cage on the TerraTrike Rover when I used the serrated blade to cut the zip ties. :D Not sure how the phone's camera did this shot, but I like how it turned out.  :o

And I got the front Cateye Reflex 560attached to the front via a water bottle cage of all things!

Found another use for the Spreader knife on the Leatherman Flair... used it today for a Tire Tool. :D

  Trike Tire Iron

Removing slime and debris from the rubber spoke liner, and replacing & centering it back on.

And used the Flair's flathead screwdriver to put a shoulder on the valve hole - as had a severed Schrader valve stem today. :(

And am still EDCing the Flair at both jobs. No one has complained yet.

And the can opener works great for cutting taped boxes, although I often use the Piranha for ripping through the easy tape. Have saved a few damsels in distress cause they did not have can opener for the non-twisty bottle caps.  :D
