I'll go back to my surge during the day for work though.

Now that the challenge is over I might put a pair of scissors in sooner or laterI will carry my Rebar going forward for most of my work day purposes. I liked using my ST300 during the July challenge, that really proved to me a MT was a viable solution for me. It was heavy, and my suspenders were requiring frequent adjustments. Then the Rebar was selected and it did not miss a beat. If memory serves me correctly, the one tool I did not use during the challenge was the opener. Guess what, day 31 - Rebar opener was implemented to remove caps from 2 ice cold IBC Root Beers at a local apple festival my wife and I took in today. Sorry, tool with me but not my phone, so no action shot. (Image removed from quote.)For me SCISSORS are not a want on my Rebar, as I also carry a Micra. The only tool I would change in the future is the file. For me the Rebar is that tool that is presently 'just right', yet I will keep and eye out for that better tool in my future. But first. A couple thoughts. So, the good ol'Rebar This has to be among my favorite Leatherman multitools. The tool load out is really great for me, and the size and form factor is so easy to carry everywhere whether it's in a pocket, pack or tossed in my van (down by the river). Here's a couple thoughts I have. Feel free to comment with yours:Pros. -awl, every multitool in my opinion/use needs an awl-blade shapes, I like both SE and PE-file, the cross hatched side is good (not great)-drivers, the flats and philips are all great, good selection. Seems to cover everything I come across-replaceable hard wire cutters-wire stripper-sheath availability/variety-ease of modification and compatibility -overall shape and size-weightCons. -awl, needs a sharper point imo-overall precision of hard wire cutters-file, the single hatched side dosent seem to be good for much -can opener/cap lifterOverall satisfaction with the Leatherman Rebar is a solid 8/10 & Overall thoughts. I'm going to continue to keep the rebar as my number one go to edc plier based multitool.

Here is a pic of the awl puncturing an aluminum beer can with ease. We were goofing around after vacation and a friend wanted to shotgun a beer. The awl barely touched the aluminum before it punctured it. This pic didn't make the cut for my daily pic, but here it is a bonus pic from Day 17 lol (Image removed from quote.)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I thought the awl and the medium screwdriver needed some improvement.http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,61627.msg1143411.html#msg1143411Then there is the file modhttp://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,67481.msg1309095.html#msg1309095

The refined awl, much more effective for intended use isn't it I need to look into and mod those.

Ala the Alox awl or violently sharp and pointy SOG awl. Where as if you make a hole with the leatherman awl you'll be left with a mangled big ol hole. Of course this is subject to my opinion. Really depends I guess on what you're using it for.
