Ozark trails flashlights
on: August 15, 2016, 01:57:56 AM
So we all know the Ozark trail 3 dollar knife and 9 dollar yeti clone cup are bargain basic winners ,right? Has anyone been tempted to try out their line of flashlights at Walmart? They boast 200, 400, and even 600 lumens. Most are all under 25 bucks. All are easy to find AA or AAA.

All right I'll play. I picked these all up within the last month and I must admit I am highly impressed with them. I got all 5 for less than $40 but if I would have spent $60-$80 I still would have been happy. The first two I got for $1.28 off the website and they are 80lumens each. They feel the cheapest of them all but work great. Can't complain for the price point and they are better than any 9 led light you may find for the same price. I bought like 5 of them just to throw anywhere I may need a light.

The 200L flash light was $9 and change. Works good, only has one mode and has a solid build. Does not feel cheap at all. Is a little bulky but the value is there.

The Black flashlight/4th is a 350 lumen flashlight with zoom capabilities and 3 modes (high, low, and strobe). I think this is an older model because I was able to get it for $4, and it is no longer on the website nor have I seen it in any other store. Needless to say I bought everyone in the store. It has a large flood light and it zooms to spot by sliding the head out. I really like this one a lot, and at $4 it is my favorite flashlight I own. I believe It was regularly $18, but even at that price it is still a good buy. There is no memory as it always turns on high. You can turn it off by cycling through all 3 modes or by holding down the power button. Run times are 5 hours at 350L or 25 hours at 32L using 4 AA batteries.

The last flashlight is the Ozark 700 lumen light and it is a beast. It has two modes, a high and low, and like all the other flashlight feels very solid in the hand. I paid $24 for this light and I would say that is good price point for it. I do not think I would pay any more for it, but at the same time, I do not feel bad spending that much either. The down side to this light is that you have to cycle through the modes to turn it off. So more than a few times I've put the light down and didn't notice that I had only cycled to the low mode and didn't actually turn it off. Using 6 AA batteries, it has a 8 hour run time at 700L, or 42 hour run time at 152L. You guys may feel differently than me, but I think those are some great numbers.

When comparing these lights to other flashlights I own with the same lumen levels,  they were all pretty even. The beam pictures I have posted are in this order: 80L,200L,350L(flood),350(spot), 700L. They were all taken about 12 feet from the doors. Hope this helps some of you.

By the way: The Tumbler is great and so is the 64oz insulated water bottle. I was able to grab it on sale a few weeks ago for $10, but even at the regular price of $15 its a great buy.

Here are the last two beam shots as listed above as well as the 350L in spot mode, and 700L at about 40 feet away.
