A Winchester  & a knife in one package. It doesn't get any better than that.

'61 Imperial MIL-K "Demo" knife with my latest pick up, a Russian Picnic Knife, presumably from the Soviet era, and is only marked "35" or "85" (presumably the number of the factory), which I purchased from our own Sazabi.

Two knives that saw opposite sides of the Cold War during their lifetimes.

Traditional Challenge, Day 27

I'm on the road for the remainder of the challenge.  I'll have only one knife with me and I wanted to be comfortable, so I brought my favorite #66.

(Image removed from quote.)

(Image removed from quote.)

I just got back from Mackinac and faced the same question, whether to take one knife for three days or pack several... I rolled three of them up in my Buff and stuck it in my bag. That's why a couple photos were pretty crappy looking, had to take them when I had a spare moment back at the hotel. That said, I think this knife will do you just fine for the rest of the challenge. Pragmatic beauty in one little package right there!

Day 28

Case Humpback Stockman in Ebony. This knife is great but it has one flaw. The secondary spring with the sheepsfoot and spey blades is so danged tough! I don't want to sell it, but I can barely pry it open, so I may have to try the old "let it sit half open" trick for a day or two, see if I can loosen it up a touch.

May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

Better too tough than too weak, IMO!! Yep, try that and some oil.  It does look like the spring is proud just with the spey open less than 1/2 in the pic--more so than the main, which is open further.

I hope you aren't forced to sell that pretty knife.

Cool trapper SGuy. And that leather sheath looks to be very nice companion to it as well  :tu: :tu:

Also, to AlanK. I appreciate a guy who can drink a cup of coffee right before going to bed.  :salute:

15/30 trad challenge

This pictures making the rounds tonight, sorry bout that. Been really enjoying my slip joint. As I mentioned before I am extremely new to the more traditional knife (non sak). And I am now hooked on the carry.

Thank you for the challenge and all your guys' knife knowledge and continual photos! (Sorry the pic sucks, was from my iPad in bad lighting)

Sometimes I get groggy but not tired enough to go to sleep.  That last cup or half a cup wakes me up enough to realize how tired I really am so I can get some sleep.  It's rare for me to get more than a couple of hours at a time. Still loving that knife you've been carrying for the challenge.
