Thanks!  Interesting thing about that knife...  It is a factory "second".  The reason it was a second is that the Micarta slabs didn't match when it was new.

Now that the scales have aged they match perfectly.  See the link below for pictures of it when it was new.  You might not believe it's the same knife.  It is so much prettier after the aging.:

http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,6299.msg490351.html#msg490351

Thanks for the link  It does look much better now and it looked good before :tu: I like the blade styles as well on this one :like:

Some excellent choices and pics today again guys

+100!!!!!

Will probably try to keep the trad carry thing up for a while....when I first came to MTO, a SAK and a Trad everyday was my standard carry. I have several on the way too....

I'm going to keep going for a while also.  This has been such a great thread!  Thanks to all who have participated!

I have enjoyed reading this thread as much as all of you and I wasn't even in the challenge :D Been a really good read and has been interesting to see what everyone was carrying day to day :like:

I'll keep going as well, of course it won't be a challenge. I always carry a traditional, no matter what.
I augment it with a SAK and MT.

Traditional Challenge, Day 30

#56 GEC/Tidioute Weaver's Jack w/1095 blades and rust red Micarta scales

This is the only traditional knife remaining in my collection that I haven't already shown in this thread.  So, here it is!  Unfortunately it's rainy here and the lighting doesn't do the Micarta slabs justice at all.

I'm like you I've run out of users to post.
This last one didn't make the cut, it's an older queen workhorse canoe. It's starting to patina a bit so it's about time to polish the blades again.  :D
I'm not a patina fan and this one has a very slight blade rub between the two blades. Patina and scratches  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

That's an interesting one.  I've seen lots of older Queen canoes with the shorter bolsters, but I don't believe I've seen one with the domed pins like that.

It's Queens Workhorse line, it uses 1095 and composite or delrin handles with the exposed pins.

:like: Nice knife! That combo of blades is perfect for my use.  But, GECs, especially the ones with multiple  blades are among the most expensive  traditionals  there are. with this one being about $100 for a wood handled, and $98 for one like you've got. Closest  I can afford, is the three bladed variety of electrician's knife with drop point, hawkbill, and screwdriver blades for about $30, or half that or less used.

Thanks!  I hear 'ya, and completely understand.  I was fortunate to get a good deal on this one since it was a "second", so I paid about what you'd pay for a larger 3-blade Case.

I assume that people will continue to join this challenge.  I think for the rest of us who just like carrying traditional slippies day-to-day and posting pictures and discussion of them, we should probably use the "Show your slipjoints" thread and try to keep this thread to challenge-related discussion.  That will keep this thread cleaner for discussion of the challenge and knives posted by the participants.

...just my $.02.

I was actually about to post that. :) I threw a TL-29 into my pocket this morning. Perhaps a "What slipjoint did you carry today?" thread.......

Congrats, SteveC!

Today, it was the same M. Klein and Sons (and perhaps made by Camillus, not Utica)  yet again.  With the fact that the curve was retained throughout sharpening of this knife during its life--it cuts better than the one my grandfather had.
