Day 5. Carrying both the traditional slip joint and the rebar. It's a great combo, and I'm glad I'm trying this pairing.

I just really enjoy the blade shape on the Michigan Jack. It is so useful!

That's really nice!!!!  :salute:

Carried the Schrade 89OT earlier today, but decided to put it back until I can get a thin ceramic rod to sharpen the serrations.   I carried the LF&C 0288 (no matter where I look, I can find no LF&C pattern list or catalog to cross-reference see just what this model is, exactly according to the maker, which is likely because LF&C hasn't made knives in 66 years, and that this knife is over 80 years old)  Whittler this evening.

I am giving the Buck slippies some attention.
I can't bring myself to buy a Buck Canoe in 420J2 steel at this point; these 700 series are all I have for now.

I've been a little slack in posting pics over the last couple of days. :-[  However I've not been slack in my traditional knife carrying. :salute:  It's been my No7 Opinel for the last few days anyway.

Traditional Challenge Day 15

#33 Great Eastern Cutlery Northfield Conductor w/carbon blades, coping secondary & Gabon Ebony scales.

I've kept this one out of my pocket for several years, and now I've concluded that it's too great a knife to not use.  This is one of GEC's best patterns, IMO.  It's the perfect size for a watch pocket (3 5/16" closed), yet it has a surprisingly large main blade fit into that small frame.  The #33 pattern is also produced in 3-blade whittler (clip, pen, coping) and a "pen knife" with clip and pen blades.  I consider this one with the coping secondary a "1/2 whittler".

Never post this knife again :twak: :twak:
You have me looking at whittlers.  :D

I hope you feel better my friend.

Day 18
Here's a pic I took really early this morning. I think it's a cool shot, but what do I know.

I also managed not to wake the neighbors with my cursing when the knife fell to the ground during the first 3 attempts.   That ought to count for something. :D

I've been looking at the Case Mini Copperhead w/Wharncliffe.  It looks like a nice pattern, but I wish I could find it in CV.

Traditional Challenge, Day 19

It's a beautiful day in MO.  I think I feel the leading edge of autumn.  I'd rather be flying, but there's plenty of work to be done around the property.  I think these will get the job done.

Carried the Case Sodbuster jr today.
I had to do some heavier knife work in the woods today, so this Helle Viking took care of that.

Thanks!
It is a pretty good knife. Thick carbon steel, 90degree spine. Its based on a find from the Viking age according to Helle.

Day 19

Case Teardrop Jack on some mums that are starting to open. They got fooled by the sudden cool weather recently, it's supposed to get back up into the high 80's this week.

May it be as the Pattern has chosen.
