Never heard of the Ranger, until seeing this thread.  How many layers?  Does it come with the Plus scales to include a pin and pen?  Does it come with black scales?

The Ranger is 5 layers and is available with plus scales in black..... I know that Central Valley Wholesalers has the black ones.

My Ranger is a mod of my own design :salute: It is a Master Ranger because I have added the Phillips/mag layer and an inline awl. I also added plus scales to it as well :tu: but I have carried a real Ranger planty and they are very awesome :dd: :like:

Now I’m thinking of a Master Ranger with no blades or opener layer... Possibly with pliers. Would combo well with a Pioneer.  :tu:
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

I have thought about a bladeless version myself  but since I use the driver of the bottle opener so much I can't figure out how to keep it and lose the can opener  If you do decide to do this then thread :pok: :D

Time to give this club a boost. :)  Now I will admit I've actually owned a Ranger for years now, but it was second hand and I'd always thought of it as mod fodder that somehow never got used.  Having not gotten myself a shiny new SAK in far too long I thought I'd get myself a up to date Ranger. 8)

Fridays are actually for five layers, not four.

Keep that on the down-low or you'll have the guys from the Huntsman club over here.

Victorinox RANGER. Matte finish scales.

These three tools together with the usual blades, openers, and the extra back tools make for a versatile carry.
Hoping to add a black and a forest camo to the collection.

Recently restored this older version : frozen by dirt, bent small screwdriver, too ugly to take a "before" pic,
fitted it with my last pair of solid scales with the gorgeous metal insert, and passed it onto its proud and happy new owner.

They feel different from the new ones, with the solid cellidor scales. Just feel heftier and more robust. Or is it just me ?
