Wenger display board
on: September 02, 2023, 05:11:02 PM
A fellow on the other forum I frequent showed this Wenger display board:

https://www.merzantiques.com/product/m1131-very-interesting-and-unique-factory-display-board-with-27-swiss-army-knives/

After taking as close a look at it as I possibly could, it is my opinion that the board itself is probably genuine. However, I believe that someone acquired it empty and filled it with whatever knives he could scare up. A mix of dogleg and lobster claw can openers would seem to support my theory. But that's just conjecture; I'm far from expert when Wenger is concerned. What say the experts?

 Hi Dan,
Figure that the display was in a store, right?  When they sell something, they replace whatever is an empty space with what their vendor ships them next time they order.  Mixed vintage tools in a store showcase is more usual than unusual.  Best wishes.  Gary

I'll second that.  When you pay by the square foot, it better be making money!

Why do people keep putting stickers in the scales, instead of the tools (where a little alcohol gets rid of the glue without ruinning anything) or in the panels where the knives are displayed?!

Makes perfect sense. Why didn't I think of that? :dunno:

I wondered that, too. Wenger scales seem to be more affected by alcohol that Victorinox scales.
