Yes, every time!

The first thing you learn in marketing is "You sell the sizzle, not the steak". To me, that sound of the blade snapping closed is the "sizzle"; the surprise and delight I get from that snap every time really makes me love SAKs.

This !! I let mine snap every time.  It's part of the Swiss Army knife allure for me. Gives me this well engineered precise feeling that I like.

I try to let the blade snap for the fun of it, but most of the times I control the blade all the way down.
I read somewhere that it's bad for the back spring to let your blade snap shut.
And it's Cars fault with his stories of Mr Van on the traditional section of BF. "Don't fight your blade" and not to let it snap shut

Well, should a back spring ever snap just send the knife to the Victorinox warranty spa and your grandson maybe has to do it again. And I doubt snapping alone damages the spring, more likely it furthers damage taken in some other incident. anyway more recent springs should be more resistants than older ones.
