I normally pass on these kinds of things. But... what the smurf. Keep in mind, this is ONLY my pocket EDC, so no pictures of my tool kit, mini-FAK, electronics pouch, water bottle, spare socks, et al from my pack.
So, lets start with the hat.
I always have some kind of hat- hair loss causes hats. In the summer I wear one of a couple of boonies, today's was ATACS FG (or as I prefer to call it, Endor-flauge). Others are dark grey or what used to be tan and is now peanut butter brown.
In the hat for a lack of place to put it is my smaller pocket litter-
-Vic Compact and Fenix e01 on a mini binier. That normally rides clipped in the corner of my left front pocket. There used to be a tiny USB drive, but I never used it so out of EDC.
-CRKT M16, I think the 10z variant. It is modified by grinding down the thumb side liner-slab so I can actually actuate the liner, and replacing the meh lube. Rides at right front pocket. May be replaced or suplimented with a number of smaller fixed blades
-Lighter, needs to be replaced. Its a no name crack lighter I bought five years ago and it's finally down to a quarter tank. it's green, under the pens
-1x black sharpie, 2x black pens
-glasses cleaning wipes
-Cheapie Casio watch. I kill $30 watches in two or three years, while my most expensive was about $200 and lasted four years before the water proofing failed. And a paracord bracelet.
-Moto cell phone. One of the last ones assembled in America. Case is a Otter. It's pretty much stock, the most disturbing thing on there is the sheer number of classics downloaded from Gutenberg- my current phone book is the Odyssey.
Working around clockwise we find my wallet.
-Levenger Pocket Briefcase.
https://www.levenger.com/bags-11/pocket-briefcases-76/international-pocket-briefcase-2269.aspx-White under it is the sitrep from my last doc's visit, including their phone number and my perscriptions. Folded inside of that is a copy of my medical directive. There is also a copy of the Vt Constitution's Articles (our Bill of Rights)
-little bit of aluminum foil. It comes in handy at times
-a ridiculous Readyman "Escape" card. Found it for about what it's worth at the state surplus store, either police disposal or TSA seized.
-only slightly less ridiculous Brunton "Lost Hiker" kit with a floatable mini compass, air ground and morse, tiniest mirror, and a fresnel lens. Augmented with two sewing needles and about 15' of dental floss taped to the card with the compass on it.
-Bic four color shorty, which fits in the wallet.
-NOT shown are ID, some more ID, Medical insurance card, car insurance card, two 1976 quarters (for the ferry man if needed- he's failed to load this cargo before so I'll tip well), a list of phone numbers and addresses, a list of serials for a few things along with my other insurance policy numbers, and a miniature copy of the boy scout knot card on a 3.5 index card. Also a 3x5 note pad with about 15" each of duct tape and electicians tape on the cover tucked into the carrier, and half a dozen index cards in various colors, and two pieces of thin 9x5 paper folded three times for leaving long notes. And cash, never leave home without and never travel with less than a dollar per mile to home. RFID pass for work. Range membership card, and until they expire, ME and NH non-resident CCW permits (both states have gone to Constitutional Carry since mine were issued, VT has always been).
Key ring, with among other interesting things, KEYS! Also an old aluminim whistle that works really well, a tiny pill fob with a valve stem cover (they suck to find at night when it's below zero, which is when I'll inevitably drop one) and a tinder quick, and the yellow piece is the handle of a BSA Hotspark. I prefer the softer, hotter ferro rods, but the hard stuff is more robust so it works better for a key ring.
Maglight XL50. This is not a true EDC item, but it's been in my pocket for a week and a half.
Skipping an item, Leatherman Rebar in a Cleaveland Kydex carrier. Some of you might remember I I posted a bit about the carrier in March- they got it back to me, the fit is good and they took almost an inch off either side along the way. The dang thing used to be as wide a double magazine carrier. THis as a pair of lift the dot style straps on it, origionally made for IWB carry. Here I've got them configured so I can carry it under my belt but above my pants- snagless, low profile. I will revist that review after the six months is up.
Item that was skipped. Magpul Glock 26 magazine with 12 rounds, 135gr +P Horandy Critical Duty. It is carried in a Glock Store "Perfect" magazine pouch. This is clipped into a modified pocket on my pants, along with the Maglite when I carry it.
My pistol is technically only "slightly" modified, if you except that having only three non-OEM parts (front and rear sights are Tijicons which will be replaced by Truglo TFOs by summer's end) and a Vickers extended magazine release. All other parts are stock Glock. The reason I put "slightly" in quotes is it is a Glock 19 with grip shortened to take a Glock 26 magazine, normal load is 10rnds of 115gr Horandy Critical Defense. This is my "summer gun" after being somewhat disappointed in the 26, which I found to be have a much higher recoil impulse than the 19, but when I experimented with a 19 slide and barrel on my 26 it was fine, just too big a gap at the front of the frame. Alternatively, an unaltered Glock 19 w/ or w/o an Illuminator, in which case the spare(s) are also 15 rounders, or I may swap the flush fit ten rounder for another pmag 12 rounder. Or I could mount the illuminator on this one, but it would look silly and I might as well carry the unaltered one.
The holster is one I got years ago at a gun show from a vendor who I haven't come across since then, and the website on his business card is a 404. It's a nice bit of Kydex and the start of an addiction.
Not shown, becuase I'm a ninny and forgot to take them out of my pockets before throwing my pants in the washing machine, a pair of handkerchiefs. Also not show is my glasses, and my shoes- I use shop shoes that look like sneakers but have steel toes and serious insoles, because life is too short for sore feet and broken toes. And wool socks, becuase they are amazing.
There are other gadgets that I'm not unlikely to have, but they aren't an every day. Like change, my cane or walking stick, a small tape measure, retroreflective PT belt, mini polyhedrons, that kind of thing.
