For me, it is the "best" EDC light and its what I have pocket carried for many moons.

Pros:

- thin and unobtrusive in the pocket
- stiff clicky that never actuates accidentally
- several hours of runtime, so it works when you need it
- plenty of usable light
- around $20US

Cons:

- none

I feed mine with Eneloop AAA rechargeables, and once in a while I replace them with fresh ones.  I own 3 or 4 of them, and even think they look better when the paint starts to wear off.  Lights were my first obsession 20 years ago, and I have enough of them to supply the Bolivian army.  So I have everything to choose from.  Small AAA lights like the Fenix E05 are nice, as are the big boys like a Fenix PD35 belt light.  But the Stylus pro falls into that happy middle ground that is small enough not to notice in your pocket, but bright enough and with a decent runtime to do the job.

I just like the idea that it's a little brighter than most other pocket flashlights, anyone ever have to use the warranty?

I've never needed the warranty.  But since these lights are relatively inexpensive at $19.99 shipped on Amazon Prime, in my view they are basically disposable if they ever do croak.

That's my EDC too. I have no other flashlights at this size to compare, except a dozen Chinese Generic aluminium fat ones. There's not any resemblance. The Streamlite has good quality, ergonomics, reliability, form factor and effectiveness.

This might be a silly question but how well do they fit in chinos and jeans?

We each have our own tolerance for what we can pocket, but I never notice it in my pocket.  This is true for my standard 5.11 Taclite Pro pants, as well as jeans, etc.  It also comes with a minimalist, open top nylon belt holster of good quality if you are not into pocket carry.  Size-wise, it is somewhere in the range of a regular Sharpie marker.

I don't use the clip, but keep it on there as an anti-roll device.

PN hit the nail on the head. It's a good 2x AAA light, period. It's a great light for the price, a very good value. :tu:
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

I concur; its the best EDC due to form factor combined with simple interface and toughness.
I've had a 20 lumens, 48 lumens and now the latest ones are 60ish.

Amici,
I have all of the Stylus lights, and the one I still use is the Microstream.. Although it will burn through a battery and heat up if you plan on using it to explore a cave, for EDC it's not only ideal, but built like a tank.

For example, there was this time I was exiting my vehicle with an out of control dog, and in the melee, it somehow became unattached from my pocket. Well several hours later, when I realized it was missing, I retraced my tracks. There it was, in the middle of the street. At that same moment when I spotted it, a truck barreled down the road and ran over it. When I retrieved and powered it up, WAHLAA!! it worked like a charm..

Sure it was banged up from apparently being run over by a plethora of vehicles, but it just made it look Bobba Fett cool. I still use it in my rotation for EDC to this day.

Cheers,
Serge

Any thoughts on the stylus pro for edc

The Streamlight Stylus Pro is a good, basic EDC light and a darn good value.  My Stylus Pros were too slippery so I glued a couple layers of heat shrink tubing to the barrel.

I modified the pushbutton switch to be more sensitive, too.

After owning a couple different generations Stylus Pro, I moved on to brighter, multimode pen lights (Pelican 1920, Streamlight Protac 2AAA, Inova XP).
