"Modern" take on an Altoids tin?

I was in a local big box hardware last week and they had these small Otter Boxes on clearance at half price, so I had to buy 2 (ask any female, that makes perfect sense).

Not much bigger than a wallet and completely watertight.
I thought they would be great for making a little EDC kit and one for the boat.

I must go back and read the various Altoids threads for inspiration.

I've been waiting ages for them to go on sale here.

I have been using the next size up for my phone when I go kayaking for a couple of years now.  I like these ones a lot, much more than I like the regular otterboxes, and I am a big fan of those too.

Cool! What do they weigh? (Approx, I'm not asking you to dig out a scale. :) )

As a cheap alternative, the TrueUtility boxes in which some of their tools come might be enough. Not so ergonomic but the lid has a kind of O-ring that makes it (in theory) watertight.

I did "dig out a scale" but my reloading scale only goes to 100g and the next one up is the one in the bathroom.

But by applying a bit of grey matter and physics I come up with 152 grams, 5.4oz.

Very cool, thanks for the info!

I have a Vic box that I keep in my winter jacket, that has some emergency type edc type stuff in it.

I think Ill upgrade to the otter type box!
