How do Samsung's J series phones compare to the S?

I don't know, I've never had one of their J series. My Samsung experience is limited to the note 3 and 4 and now the S9+

I'm loving the S9+

Finally had enough of my iPhone. :twak:

Going to pick up a new Nokia later today - either the 6 2018 or 7 plus, depending on how they feel. :woohoo:

Nokia 6 it is.  :like:

Nice to be back on a big screen again, and to not have to use iOS.

Good choice :tu:
My sons have all gone over to the dark iOS side and my spouse is considering it... I shall be stalwart...

Hilarious, my wife's LG K8 2017 is getting the Oreo 8.1 update now.

I bought my Motorola G5 plus because they promised such an update, still waiting :twak:

And while I know it's out there it stills says no update available  :-\

My S9 plus is Oreo 8.0, it hasn't got 8.1 yet either.

I'm still on 7.0

My phone came out the same month as hers, mine has been on the update list for ages, hers wasn't even scheduled to get it so it's a surprise

Afaik most updates are skipping 8.0 direct to 8.1, considering the next version (9.0) is already in the wild

I've been eyeing the Oukitel K10 as an upgrade for my current K10000...

http://gsmversus.com/oukitel-k10/

11000mAh battery, nice specs and Android 7.0 with upgrade to Oreo coming  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

What's not to like?

 :D

PS: Oh and it's actually 50g lighter than the K10000  :tu:

Any phone buying advice?
I'm thinking of getting one next year.
Something with a reasonable price, and will get updates.

The Nokia 6 looks like an interesting candidate.  :tu: Little bloatware, and updates to 2020 at least.
Or Moto G6?
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Dunno what you should get, but my criteria were:

The most (or closest to) stock version of Android.
Can use all the screen one-handed
Fingerprint recognition
3.5mm headphone jack
Not a glass back
Decent camera
32MB min, expandable if poss
£200-ish

Waterproof would have been nice, but not for that money.

That lot got me a Nokia 6.1, which I'm very happy with.

Did someone say "big battery"?

I've been looking at Oukitel K10...

Decent specs and 11000mAh battery  ;)

Also 50grams lighter than my K10000  :tu:

A bit big for me though.

The Nokia 7 plus has a reasonably big 3800 mah battery.
It’s specs look twice as good as an iPhone 6s.
And it’s on amazon for €300... Tempted....
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Resurrection Remix is based on LineageOS and CyanogenMod is basicly same as LineageOS but its older. LineageOs is pure android with few tweaks here and there but it has no extra stuff compared exmple Samsungs Touchwiz
