My Spirit came in handy today....
on: August 24, 2016, 11:04:18 PM
Yesterday at the doctor I was given a new full finger splint for my still-broken right middle finger. It has metal tabs that are bent to keep it tight on the finger, but the rear tabs were just too long and stuck up far enough to catch on things at work.

My Spirit RT was in my bag, so I decided to fix the sucker. :)  With the file, I made a mark where I wanted to cut:

The cutters made short work of the splint's soft metal.

I used the file again to smooth out the edge,

And success!

:D you can clearly see the broken finger in pic #4.

Incidentally, this is not the first time I've used a MT for something like this. Some of you may recall several years ago when I used the file on my MP600 to widen the thumb hole on a customers' cast. :)

Yeah it hurt a little bit when it happened. ::)  It's been a month now, and the smurfer just isn't healing right. :( Hopefully the full splint will help. I had a fingertip splint, but every time I moved the finger it hurt like hell. Felt decent today at work, only Advil and one tramadol to keep the throbbing down.....
