Was that taken through a loupe?
Very nicely done afocal photo.

Yup. Didn't get the afocal part, I know nothing about these things. I just use it for checking tough to read labels in the insects I'm working with at the museum. Just took my phone to the lens.

Afocal photography is holding the camera, with its lens, up to the eyepiece of another optical magnifier, such as a loupe, the eyepiece on a microscope, or the eyepiece of a telescope (or one side of binoculars), or through a magnifying glass. I've done this routinely with microscopes at work as it's the easiest way to document what was found when what we were investigating was placed under a microscope. I've also done it with 5x and 10x loupes when I couldn't get access to a microscope easily, which is why made an educated guess at having used a loupe.

Eyepiece Projection removes the camera lens but keeps the eyepiece on the microscope or telescope.

Prime Focus removes both the camera lens and the telescope or microscope eyepiece, attaching the camera body directly to the microscope, telescope, etc., without camera lens or the eyepiece in the optical train. This method has the least magnification compared to the other two.

My photo above, through the magnifier of one Woodsman, magnifying the Phillips and screw on another Woodsman is another example of afocal photography.
