I think I must take a leave from SAKMC.  I just have too many neat little SAKs that I want to try out here n there.

Like this nice, but used, Wenger Highlander I just got today. Cost me $12!!

The SI will always be my favorite and go to SAK, but I have several Wengers I want to try out.   Maybe this will help me weed out SAKs that I just don’t care to keep!

G-Unit checking in. Had a little procedure done today, so I'm stuck in bed the next couple of days. Been using that time messing with picture editing on my phone.

So, this has got me thinking: are there sakmc club rules?

I almost always stick to my black pioneer (actually did pretty much exclusively for edc outside of the 111mm and minimalist challenges for ~6 years), but have occasionally been carrying the OC pioneer.

I also always have a 58mm on the keychain, but I fessed up to that when I joined.

Do any of these things disqualify me?

Technically, as I understand it, as long as you only carry ONE SAK (presumably in your pocket or on belt??) at a time let’s you claim club status.

I don’t think keychain should count as my keys are not on my person all day.

Hey man, that SAK is looking sweet with the wear on the scales.  And rest up.  My wife has mentioned that procedure to me as the female version is more invasive, but I get queasy everytime we discuss it, lol.

Thanks

Yeah, it's definitely less troublesome than the female one. Plus, I think I've read it's more effective too.

It definitely wasn't my favorite thing I've ever done  ::) but it honestly hasn't been too bad.

Well, since I “parked” my daily carry SI, I have been carrying different SAKs. They have been carried in SAKMC format...

I tried my Wenger Highlander for a few days. Then gave my Wenger Handyman a shot. Yesterday’s carry was my Centurion-skinned GAK.

Today I decided to lighten the pocket ever so slightly...

Today’s sole carry is my GAK-skinned Centurion.

G-Unit checking in.

Confession: Over the past couple of months I've strayed from ol Blackie, mainly with my recently departed old cross pioneer, but also with others. The betrayal was always quick and kept quiet (other than all the photographic evidence on the forum ), but I strayed none the less.

I find myself being minimalist in many things in life, including my daily carry. I like carrying the same thing day in and day out, watching the wear from use and abuse add up over time, until the item has that great, smooth pocket worn feel.

The SAKMC badge was the first badge I got, and I thought that was fitting because I had truly carried, without fail or deviation, the same two tools for years: my black pioneer and black alox classic.

Well, now after these fleeting flings of failure to be faithful, I'm returning to the club.

The black alox classic was lost a few months ago, and has been replaced with a custom black alox rambler, but the minimalist spirit is still the same.

So, welcome home old friend, welcome home!  :drink:

How long shall i actually "date" the same knife before i can call myself a monogamous? I realized, for now, 2 things: I always have a manager (it's with my keys, and it's perfect <3); I bring almost every day a tourist (it fits perfectly in the 5th pocket of lots of my pants). The lack is, of course, scissors. So i cheat on him sometimes with a climber. I don't have a climber 84mm, but when i will have it i guess it will be true love (with sporadic ONS i guess)

Well, I gave it a shot.  Last weekend I decided to stick my every day Wenger SI in the drawer and try out different SAKs for daily carry.

I have carried my:

Centurion-skinned GAK
GAK-skinned Centurion
Hercules
Wenger Handyman
Wenger Highlander

What I discovered was that my venerable SI has everything I really need. And it has that wonderful inline AWL!!!!

So back to the SI I go. It’s light and sleek and feels wonderful in the hand. Oh, and that bail!!!  I LOVE that bail. Add to that the awl...

I’m back.
