Question about SAKMC badge.

I bought my first swiss army knife at 11 or 12, at K-Mart in a nice blisterpack. It's a Wenger Handyman. I still have it!  But about 2 years ago I broke it. Which had me searching for information about getting it repaired. Which led me to find out that two companies made SAKs, Wenger and Victorinox... and that Vic now owns wenger, has no replacement scales, and would just replace my SAK with a new knife.  So... I found THIS place when searching for how to DIY a repair. I found the modding stuff and then... well, now I own a few different SAKs, and I'm addicted to multi tools. So I have that going for me.

My question is basically, do those 28 years of SAK monogamy count for a SAKMC badge? Or is it null and void because I now own more than one SAK?  Inquiring minds (okay, just me) want to know...

Charles.

CC, the origins of the SAKMC badge seem to be steeped in mystery. I think the chief qualification is to be committed to carrying just one SAK. A little fling on the side with the occasional keychain Classic seems to be permitted, but the chief point is to have an undying allegiance to that one SAK.

Until you switch to a different SAK and become a one-SAK-man awl over again.

If you watch carefully, it is clear that some people are serial SAKMC'ers. Oh, how standards have slipped in this age of loose morals and easy access to SAKs......

Haha thanks Nix! I wasn't ment to be that way but the glare from the MacGyver episode and the lightstrip behind the TV did what they do

I blame the internet and easy access to endless free galleries showing pictures of SAK's. I was contaminated that way myself, I was a regular faithful traditional guy who would never have thought of betraying my commitment. Then I did an innocent google search and up popped an image of a Pioneer Settler. I surreptitiously clicked on it and before I knew it I was hooked, my regular traditional knife had been replaced and I've pretty much EDC'd a SAK ever since. I loved that traditional dang it but she's long gone. All that and I still don't have a Settler.

Lovely stuff guys.

As the founder of the SAKMC, the original way to become a member was to stage an actual marriage between you and your SAK (you can be husband, wife or whatever) in a church. The event had to be filmed by another member of MTO and then at the after wedding party you had to fight a gang of miscreants for the honour of your SAK. A blood pledge was made in front of witnesses and then you had to survive in the wilderness with only your betrothed for 3 weeks.

It's much easier to get in now.

Niether!

It's a Philadelphia, USA breed called 'Phenomenal'. Specially raised to be Winter hardy....which is important here.

I do have a specimen of English lavender out back....and, to my surprise, it is doing nicely. Also have a French lavender which is growing like a weed.

I'm not being biased, I'm a Scot, but I do prefer English to French Lavender - it's a nicer lookin plant... WHAT THE SMURF IS HAPPENING TO ME!?!  :ahhh

My French and English lavenders are both fairly young and small right now. Hard to make a fair comparison at this point.

I think my rebel lavenders from Phila. are of French descent, so we definitely have a bit of a continental bias here.......
