I am with you appreciating the thinness of the classic. I do not have an alox one but I recently acquired Broker with stainless steel scales (so very similar to the alox) and it is awesome.

Here it is with rest of my 58/65 - Broker, Tomo, Classic, Rambler, Alox Minichamp, Wenger Pocket Tool Chest, Midnite Manager.

I'm the same way Tony.  If I'm carrying a larger SAK, I'll never need it because my keychain SAK will cover most anything.  The moment I don't have a larger SAK is the moment I need one

My everyday companion.  I carried a Manager for the longest time till our wonderful FolderBeholder gifted me this Midnight Manager.

Its been on my wallet chain since.  So much usability, so many uses, so much love for this 58mm.

Always so appreciative to Lisa.

Opening a pepper bottle with the aid of Blue Classic.  The ceramic cow helped as much as she could.  It was dirty, and hot work but the 58mm was up to the task.  I did do it outside with proper eye protection.    [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I'm pretty sure that I don't have any PPE in the kitchen?  I have been using Badia and I have a big can of Dash.  Either was pretty good on zucchini, but I felt like I needed some black pepper.  I never bought PPE before, but do wish I had an onion.
You know that blue color really pops in that photo.  I have two blue Classic SDs that I bought for a dollar each at Goodwill.  They were gummy and had some kind of black pocket mung on them, but cleaned up well.  I open my mail with that one usually.  Best wishes. Gary

Great thing about SAKs, well one of many is they clean up nicely.  The usefulness of those will far exceed the $1 spent.  Nice find by the way.

One more 58mm photo.  The black one is a Bijou.  The Gray is a Classic SD.  Bijou was another $1 find from Goodwill.  The National Guard was a gift from a friend.  He has now gone down that long canyon trail where the tracks all point in one direction.  All going and none coming back.  The Bijou has both scale tools and the National Guard never had a slot for tweezers.  It does have a toothpick.  I don't know what you call these types of knives.  I call them advertisers?  If you know the correct toolinary nomenclature let me know.  Best wishes. I don't know what you call these types of knives.  I call them advertisers?
I call 'em "logo knives," but "advertising knives" works just as well. Yours look in pretty good shape. Does the National Guard one maybe have a pen? Seems odd that one scale would be solid and the other would have a tool cutout.

Here's a logo/advertising knife that doesn't look so great. It'll be getting new scales and a new blade eventually.

I had been hearing about Tatty Rally.  Doesn't look too bad, just well broken in.
There isn't a pen on the Classic.  I had three of those National Guard types.  I don't remember seeing a Classic with only one scale tool, now that you mention it.  Might be common as Maalox at a chili eating contest.  I am sure some of the SAK scholars know.  Best wishes Gary

Tatty Rally needs a new blade. It was dull as a butter knife when I got it, and my unfamiliarity with the Victorinox pull-through sharpener made it far worse. As for only one scale tool...I know early models with electronics had just the one, but I don't know about 58mm. Maybe Huntsman or one of the other experts will weigh in?

Can't help, maybe our SAK Wiki?
One Classic SD goes back on the keys for Summer.
I have an extra Classic with Chase Bank markings, doubt it's a SAK but fun for collectors. First pm address can have it.

I got some heat yesterday, Tony.  I was waiting for a package from the post.  I have a jeep trail sort of long rural driveway.  I took along a bucket to pick up trash by the road side and remove some debris left by the Dept of Transport when they cut trees.  It was 90F, but the humidity was off the scale.  I waited a while, stood in the shade a while, picked up branches a while.  No mail.  Then I started toddling my way back home.  A flash of something tawny colored caught my eye.  It was a bob cat.  It started up my driveway and stopped when it saw me.  About 40 feet away.  I looked at it.  It looked at me.  After a while, it spun on its axis and ran back across the road and vanished in the bushes.  Bobcats don't bother people, but we have been having a rabies outbreak here.  Victorinox never made a bob cat fighting blade.  I think Wenger did....?  Best wishes. Gary
