The alox models sure do look nice.

The problem is that I use the toot pick and tweezers on a regular basis!

I could go alox on the larger SAK I always pair with my Rambler, I guess. The 58mm scale tools are usually just the right size.

I used the Classic for a weekend several times. In a hotel not bushcraft lol. It was fine for my minor needs.

My red VAGABOND (aka Manager, when bought) has been in my pocket and used hard for at least 15 years only complimented by a knife in my tool grip or others at home on the work bench.

I can consider my perfect pocket carry, it was with me getting 4 children through high school and college.
Then Christmas toys requiring batteries, adjustments and battery swaps for 8 grandchildren and each and every birthday and Christmas.

Peeled several bags of oranges, opened clamshell packages, removed clothing tags and cut the plastic thread attachments added as well.

If I had not polled my head into this web site/forum, would have had no idea I would have ever needed any other knives, multitools or flashlights!😯

I likely could have bought a nice beach house and a float plane to fly me there anytime I wanted…

But, hey it is only money!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

But, hey it is only money!

This could have been me posting!

Just got back last night after two day drive from our daughters place in California to home in Georgetown Texas. I left home with two SAK's for all my cutlery needs. My ever present classic and my old Wenger SI. For the first week, the Wenger got some use on beach picnics for dealing with sandwich meats and bread, some use now and then for popping open an imported beer. But after the first week, the SI got put back into the duffle bag and I just used the ever loving dog poo outa my classic. It fixed a door hinge, fixed a balky garage door opener sensor using the SD tip on some small Phillips screws and the blade to strip some insulation off the wire to redo the connection. I opened a few brews with it using the SD tip to slide under the edge of the soft metal crown cap and gently twisting. After a few twists the cap could be thumbed off easy. The blade opened a new bag of dog kibble, and opened lots of plastic food wraps from a block of Tillimook cheddar to smoked ham, to a nice wax covered Edam cheese.

Of all my knives, the 58mm SAK has been the most useful in real world life. If I had never found the online knife forums to feed my senseless knife nut cravings, I'd have never bought half the knives I did.
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

I've about gone into the loony bin trying to figure out where my translucent orange Rambler went. By now I'm pretty sure I gifted it to another fine member of this esteemed board. But I still have this Rambler, and it ain't going anywhere.

Thanks, y'awl! :hatsoff: The camera didn't pick up some scratches that are very noticeable when I look at the Rambler, but I think it did well enough.

Its funny, I've never done a scale swap on a 58 but the idea is sounding tempting!

Im thinking about getting me another Mini SAK when I order the Synergy X : its gets the Nailfile, so the only Tools I would need where the Scale Tools, and not the Nailfile from the 51 mm ,  so how about the Jetsetter? In Germany its now forbidden to take Blades whit you in Train, even if its an 51 mm Mini SAK ..
Lets hope I can Order the Synergy soon, I will then also got me an Mini ^^
Your SAK is only fully yours, when it bites you, or you opend a Trink of your joice whit it
SAKs i have: Huntsman Light (Red Transparent), Workchamp (Black), Wenger EvoGrip S557 (Red), Swisschamp XLT (Red Transparent).. Swisschamp (Blue Transparent) Cybertool L (Blue Celidor (custom scales) , Huntsman (Black Celidor) , Victorinox EvoGrip S557 (Red, but sadly lost in my house somewhere) Victorinox Delemont S17 and S57 ..  , waiting for: Swiza D09 Blue

The Jetsetter would be perfect.  Have you carried a Swisscard?  I'm thinking about trying one.

I feel like the Swiss Card Classic could be helpful. If you have to go somewhere that forbids all blades you can just take out the blade and bring the Swiss Card without it.  The Swiss Card Nail Care doesn't have the blade to start with, of course, but personally I would avoid it. The glass file is too fragile, mine was broken about the second time I wanted to use it.

It sure is. I have no earthly idea what became of the box, so I can't tell you the item number right this second. There is an extremely slim possibility that the box will turn up, but I think it's long gone, and that little pouch was probably purchased in 2010.
