Decisions Decisions
on: September 03, 2016, 02:34:06 PM
I am going to SMKW this afternoon and in addition to other things I have been looking at Spyderco Knives. I have narrowed it down to either a Pacific Salt with serrations or an Endura in plain edge. I could get both, or I could get one and get something else completely different. Any opinions?

Whichever other you get, can NOT go wrong with a Pacific Salt!  :salute:

It is my EDC since I bought my first one 2+ years ago, always in my pocket, and one of the few blades I've got backups of!

Beach, BBQ, city, gardening, around the house, food prep...

it'll do it all, trust me.

Cuts like a friggin chainsaw.

Opens smooth, no liners and it weighs close to nothing for its size.

And if you're lazy about cleaning and maintaining your folders, just put it in the dishwasher  :tu:

My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

Thanks for all the pictures/feedback! That really helps! How is general food prep with the serrations?

I can only speak for the Endura, I love mine. If I was going, I'd have my sights set on the PM2. Or a ZT 0450 but that's just my current  knife. :D
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

Here are the results from today! I will also be doing some PM2 research and most likely order one online. I couldn't make up my mind in the store between getting that or shopping for benchmades So I will do some online comparing then order one.

It is always overwhelming for me when I go in there :ahhh I never get what I intend because my mind tends to wander over all the great stuff that is behind those doors :dd: I wished I could wander around there for a few days then I might actually settle down and be able to enjoy all that there is to offer in there :D

Agreed! I had two hours and just couldn't decide on that third knife. I wish It was closer to where I live! And by the way Poncho you HAVE to get a Spirit. I cant believe how precise everything is fit and finish wise. I saw a post by you the other day saying you didn't have one so I thought I'd just encourage the spending of your hard earned money. :pok:

First off congrats on deciding to get a Spyderco.  :D :tu:

I would not personally say the Endura4 is similar to the PM2 at all. Its really different in every way. Different handle shape, Handle material, Blade shape/length, Lock design, Blade steel, No liners on the Endura4, Ect....

I like all three options so far. The Pacific Salt, Endura4, and Paramilitary II. I own all three right now. I guess it really depends on what you wan't to use it for and a few personal preferences on feel and lock design, and blade steel.
