Maybe, because only this was announced before:
http://leaf-vics.com/different-documents-from-victorinox (see document "Marketing calendar 2016)

P.S. It's better to say "2C scales" or "Dual-grip scales". As far as I know, "adidas scales" thermin is used only in russian-speaking society :)

Because these scales (Dual grip) doesn't allow to fit t/tw, like many other models with the same scales - Nomad, Forester, Sentinel, etc.
In my opinion, it's a good practice to use the same name for the knives with the different scales.  :like:

I now have to justify needing a new Trekker. I really wish Vic made the dual density scales on more 111mm.  Have anyone here ever dropped and bent the liner? I have and because of it I have a bend in the outer liner on my Trekker. I have done the same thing with my Soldier and the rubber like material actually acted as a bumper and saved the liner.
Jeep the SAK of the auto world or is it SAK the Jeep of the Knife world?

I did with my '13 Soldier last winter when it was dropped  on the concrete slab outside the farm shop , which bent the liner right at the cap lifter.   Never had this issue with any 91mm SAK. Why are the 111mm liners so fragile?

Too bad the Trekker wasn't Dual Density scaled, and was just plain nylon like the OD camo Trekkers. All three look great--I'll likely get the Classic due to budget constraints--I'm already starting up saving for the $80 US military Soldier/Trekker.
