I got a letter back from Ka-Bar in regards to that folding knife I found back in the day, here’s what they wrote me and the pics I sent in..
JR

Dear Jr,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us and for sending your photos.
Your knife appears to be most likely from the 1930-1940 range. It was considered part of our "folding hunter" pattern that was made for many years.
I hope this information is helpful.

Cool !

JR - That is so cool you got a reply.  It is much older than I suspected, 1930 -40s, pre-WWII...

You did a very good job cleaning it up!!!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thanks guys, I did a quick clean up with some simple tools just to get a name and idea of what it was, but now that I know what it is maybe I’ll break the dremal out and go to town on it and then give it a good sharpening, then put it on the display shelf vs just in the draw..

If you are gonna display, I'd just give it a clean and little oil.  No need to sharpen IMO.  Its a cool knife thats for sure.  Enjoy whatever you decide to do.

Lamb and a Scout Trapper

I keep staring at those Lambs for sale on AAPK. Each time you or Steve share a photo of one, I go back and look again. Do you guys get paid by the sellers on AAPK?

If not, then you should  :D

I also have been looking at AAPK .  TC Barlow was one I had my eye on as well as another 2 or 3.  Crazy how 200 was way out my league to spend now I'm looking as such things.

Thank you David!

Are you in the path of the storm to cut into the Midwest?

They are forecasting snow and low temps for several days. Don't mind the snow just don't want the bitter cold.

It must take you an hour or more to select knife if the day!!!

A beauty!  And a charmer!!

More of a "wardrobe-full-of-clothes-yet-nothing-to-wear" scenario.

You always get the snow!   But, that artic cold is difficult to get use to😉

Colder air and lots of moisture to settle in this afternoon with rain switching over to ice, to snow for next two days. 30 F presently going down.
