Nice carries, y'awl! :tu:

A CRKT 6062 Congress.
I really like my Rough Ryder 2336...so much so that I'll be carrying it until I get ahold of another Congress. The CRKT looks pretty dang good!

Today a Case 6137 joined the Rough Ryder 2336.

Thanks, your pair are looking sharp together😉

The CRKT is the right size handle for me, presently the blades are very tight and difficult to access. Oiled the pivots last night.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

It is amazing how much variety in style and materials that were used to build a traditional pocket knife.

Great examples , but awl !!!

Case Working Jack for today.  Described by some as an upsized Peanut.

Nice CRKT Congress LC.  Those I believe haven't been made in a long while.  I have CRKT Toothpick from that same run CRKT did.  The bone on them are pretty nice.

Thank you Aloha :hatsoff:

Yes this does have attractive scales. The coloring on the bone is very well done.

This unit is clean, minor dullness on the blades and the backsprings are strong. Oiled less night as one blade I could not get enough nail in the Nick to open.

IIRC 2010 is when CRKT released 4 patterns.  Toothpick, Stockman, Congress, maybe a Trapper?

Today I'm going with my Antique Bone Tribal Lock and my cute copperhead.

Tough Decision to make this morning for my Friday adventures, settled on two,
a Tribal Lock (I’ve been ignoring) and a very handsome Rough RIder Canoe

Then I thought I posted that info early, but nope.

I also snapped a couple more pictures of the CRKT that arrived yesterday,  since it does have pretty bone covers with 4 sharp blades (bit me today)

You're welcome! By the way, what's the closed length on that sweet CRKT Congress?

Some great choices for today! :tu: I'm watching SMKW's flash sales for Congresses or Micarta that I don't have...but today they put the RR2336 in the flash sale again. :twak:

The CRKT is 3-1/2” closed, a medium?

I have a 2 blade Camillus  that is 3-1/8”.

And that is approximately the same length of the vault pattern CASE is releasing that is the small, in 2 and 4 blade.  (3-1/8”)In varying scales.   Most of the CASE Congress models are now available,  or for preorder, at SMKW.

 :hatsoff:  thank you Steve.

I honestly was not certain what I going to receive when I bid on this!  The scales was the draw for me.  Been very impressed but now know I prefer a two blade version as to much is crammed in the 4 blade.  Then again I have always been impressed by a Stockman or Sowbelly and it’s 3 blade set😉

Good Morning MTo traditional team!

Coffee
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I must admit, I really like my Buck 112s and yes I do carry most I own at different times via sheath or pocket clip.  Then my newest pocket knife I really enjoy using and carry is the CASE Tribal Lock (2 in particular).

BUT!!! Since this Sod Buster arrived, was cleaned and sharpened, I find that I luv having it within reach just as much. Have not determined if it is the Yellow covers, the blade keenness cutting or the fancy pantina on the blade steel.   😜

Here is comparison picture, each square is 1/2 and each knife is aligned to a 1” mark.

There's something to a no nonsense knife.  Tangibles are fairly easy to sort out its those intangibles that have me .  Maybe its the simplicity and straightforwardness of what a Soddie is?  Sure we can ascribe that to many patterns like the Barlow for example.  I think in many ways its why those who love these traditional knives love them so.  No real "need" to define why.
