Looks good! :like:

Today I pocketed the Case Barehead Jack.

Why is it called Barehead?

I have carried this CV Peanut every day for the last 10 years. My wife gave it to me along with a Yellow CV medium Stockman the first Christmas we were married. (Image removed from quote.)

A KEEPER👍

The WIVE, too, great gifts!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Why is it called Barehead?

It normally has a bolster at each end. When a pattern sports only the bolster at the Pivot, and the opposite end is bare ( without a bolster) it can be called a ‘Bare-Head’!

That is unusual🧐

I do not ever recall seeing a single bolster Jack.

Very nice covers. And the blade is patina rich?

One of my favorites. It is patina rich,,,just the way I like them. I did find our today that it's time to touch up the edge though.

I have learned via my CV Soddy, the CV steel takes a very nice edge and holds very well via a lots of use.

I thought the bolster on only one end was a Barlow.

A Barlow is a Barhead Jack but a Barehead Jack might not be a Barlow.   ;)

I may have to throw it in my pocket today. (Image removed from quote.)

I am going to carry mine tomorrow. That patina looks great. I can only hope mine ages as gracefully and the only way that’ll happen is if I carry and use it lol.

I may be wrong, (not the 1st time), but it is my understanding a BARLOW’s bolster is approximately 1/3 of the length of the knife covers.

So if the knife is 3-3/8” long closed. The Bolster is 1-1/8” long. 😉

Hope of some help.

There is a Thread dedicated to BARLOWS under edged tools to read and review pictures.  btw, SteveC was likely then the authority on Barlows, and many others patterns.

 :ahhh. Good Morning MTo world.

Not planning any adventures today as of yet, and have not selected my pocket carry either.  However, with the CopperLock out and about, I  suddenly realized I have 3, Navy Blue Jigged Bone Case models in my house.  So gather together for a photo op.

Yes, I do like this scheme. The Tribal Lock (bear head) was my first, then the Copperlock, and last to join the folk was the Sod Buster when reminder of restock was received a few weeks ago.
