I wish!
A 3137 would cost less than $35, so that wish could easily come true!

Just got these in.

Small Lambsfoot with Rosewood and Barlow Wharnie with Stag.

It must be a UK thing because you can’t have locking blades but the pull on both of these is strong. There is enough blade hanging out to get a good grip so it’s not an issue but dang. Pretty sure my wife couldn’t open em.

A BEAUTIFUL pair of English Wright’s.

The pull is STOUT on these,  will take some work and oil flushing to polish the pivots.

Congratulations on your pair!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I was wondering if maybe they would get a little easier over time.

What kinda oil do you guys use on your Traditional knives. I have use Remoil on my knives for a long time just because I have literally gallons of it.

Been thinking about maybe trying out mineral oil.

Wrights do make a heck of a strong pull.  As Steve says though; do give it a good flush of oil and they'll ease a little with use.  A good looking pair of knives there buddy.  :tu:

PS, we actually are allowed to have locking knives, but you need a good reason to carry one.  i.e absolutely fine to have a locking blade if it's part of your working day, but don't carry the same thing on your day off.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

You are on the right track. Mineral oil is very good and better if using blades for food prep.

Here are two I also use,
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

KPL - Knife Pivot Lube.  It reminds me off marvel mystery oil I would use for lubing printer block chains in the late 70s and 80s. Son gave me this bottle, little drops go a long way. 😊

Good scores! Most any light oil will work well. I use Quick Release cause I work with a lot of old knives with joints that need help to loosen up.    :D

I've been using a mineral oil for 10 or more years.  Just about 7/8 my way through my first bottle.  :D

I use 3-In-1 with no ill effects thus far (though it doesn't smell great). It can awlso be used to spiff up discolored Delrin.

As usual, great trads from awl! :tu:

Some carbon with carbon.  I'll have to add in SS once I decide.

34OT is a fine one.  I love how thin the blade gets once it nears the edge.  These wonderful knives by Shrade love to get extremely sharp.

Opinel #7.  Once upon a time I was carrying them more.  They are terrific simple yet effective knives.
