Organizing my tool collection and upon opening my Traditional knife drawer I thought…..

“Rookie numbers, gonna have to get them up”

Not a bad start though?

Shameful really.

That said collecting Traditional knives is satisfying.

Melancholy Morning for me this Friday🫤

Could not make up my mind for EDC, looked at my choices and nothing was saying “I am ready, or take me”
 :dunno:

Remembered a shield separated from the Yellow Queen Canoe, so I grabbed that box, then extracted my trusty BLUE Wotk knife…

One cup of coffee down, spirits on the rise along with the sun, yet cool outside.

The Repaired Canoe with a small bone knife found at Pawn Shop some time ago.

The Queen Family insisted on a group photo🤓

And my pocket carry today…🧐

Blue is a solid performer and that Barlow just puts a smile on this sour puss on days like this, but really not an improvement

HAVE GREAT FRIDAY, you AWL!

@Harley, Traditional knives are very enjoyable.  There is so much to learn and a good variety of patterns to try.  The sizes are also fun to experiment with as well.  Whats really cool is there are fancier steels too.  Even tho the ones with stag and bone are among the prettiest IMO, I think the colorful plastic handles are pretty awesome as well.

I still carry a modern folder in Ti and S30V but I'll reach for my trad more often that not.

One thing I especially love is how each trad takes on character.  Even if its stainless the handles and bolsters over time will age beautifully.

Today I'm going with,
Copperhead 6249W in one of the most gorgeous color bone I have.

Next is my USA Schrade 34OT.  In my observation Schrade did a great job at giving us the most blade they could ( length ) in a Stockman.  They also did a wonderful job with the grind on every blade.  They are so thin at the edge which I love.

Last is one I dont carry as often as I should Case, T.B. 61117 SS from 2009.  I am a Tony Bose fan boy and I don't care who knows.  This is a fancier edition with the nice bolsters.

Collecting Traditional knives has been such a fun hobby.  I thought the Stockman was my preferred pattern then the Copperhead got my attention then of course the next pattern come to my attention.  There is a lot to love about these knives.

Not that anyone asked, buy what appeals to you.  Try every pattern from a variety of makers.  Theres a reason why so many of us carry multiple trads.  I like SS and Carbon in my pocket so two is minimum.

Good Morning LC.  Gloomy here in SoCal but that is par for the course in May/June.  I was feeling a little worn early in the week.  I try to not get too far ahead of myself when that happens.  As each moment passes I also try not to settle in either.

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

― Bruce Lee

I often recite this when I have moments that don't seem to pass.  When moments seem to linger longer than I wish them too.  Some days its easier, while others it does take time.

Gorgeous knives btw..

Very nice Trio Aloha!

Of course I do love the Caribbean Blue and the Mediterranean Blue too!

The Schrade USA is always a standup knife.

But, that Tony Bose is not one I have seen much of before!  Can you share more pictures, PLEASE?

Tony is/was an Indians boy, and I too was a fan of his common sense approach to knives and his collaboration with CASE.

TIA

Hugs to you my brother.

Here is my Swayback.  I carried it as you can see from the bone but I was hesitant because I could not replace it should anything happen to it.
