Boss and Toothpick

I just love that toothpick, it looks very useful and it's showing some nice color on the blade.  Do you have a pouch or sheath you carry it in?

It's really a handy knife. Gets super sharp. Here's a pic of the sheath.

Sorry for not being around much but I've not been well for a bit.  On the mend now though.  Rest assured that even on my sick bed I still had a penknife to hand (much to my wife's amusement ;) )

Case Half Whittler for me today.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Thanks! When I ordered it, it was labeled as “Black and Green Micarta” in the catalogue but I notice that the box says “Black/Green/Natural Canvas”. Not much green in it and looks like I got a lot of the natural canvas. I am not upset at all and think it looks great.

You got that right  :tu:  :D

It is my fault. The pocket clip got mangled a couple of weeks ago and I didn't take the the time to fix it. So it was bound to fall out of my pocket at some point.

The Queen worked great today. But I don't want to get PVC glue, deox grease, or any other stuff on it. I should have grabbed a Klein, but my eyes were fixed on that lovely Queen  :D

Anyway, I have already ordered a replacement work knife from Amazon. It is only $23, has a D2 sheepsfoot blade, and I don't care if it gets dirty  :tu:

This is what it looks like:

Nice!  I bought the standard hawkbill from Lowe's ages ago, and really liked it. D2 would be a massive improvement, even though the 8Cr is decent.

Klein Tools (Utica) 1550-2 Electrician. It's the only US-made Klein I bought new. The most of them came from friends who used them in the mines, or were bought secondhand by me.

Klein essentially had a Chinese company copy these, and they stopped having Utica make them in the US in 2021. However, Proto's knife line is essentially identical to Klein's, and is still Utica-made. Only Klein in common use by me that Utica doesn't make for anyone else is the coping knife, which they no longer sell, as the "Workman" line is discontinued. What I don't understand is that Klein is still selling the Chinese-made copies for the same cost as the old Utica-made ones, and Proto still has comparable prices on the Utica-made examples in their catalog.

I highly recommend upgrading to D2, though the D2 hawkbill is $35 to $38.
