#47 Stockman today.

I've been carrying and using this one regularly since I bought it a month or so ago.  I'm typically not much of a fan of stainless steel in traditional knives, but this "SSP" Case used to offer has impressed me.  It holds an edge well, is hollow ground to be very thin behind the edge and I like that the machined, unpolished finish doesn't show fingerprints.  On the stones it feels more like 1095 than stainless.

Great looking scales on your 47 too!

The SS is most likely the higher quality Surical Steel that CASE used or reportly used to resist corrosion.   The current Stainless used since 2021/22 is Stainless Steel that is softer much like the SS used by Victorinox.

I however do like the 47 pattern and even the 75 pattern as they both feel good in my hands.

The 47’s bolsters ride better in the pocket😉

Thanks LC.  I had read some bad reviews about the F&F on late 80's to early 90's Case, but they were having a good day at the factory when this '88 was born.

I prefer the rounded bolsters for the pocket, and the #18 and #47 have become favorites of mine in the Case lineup.  I likely won't ever have a #75 because it's a bit large for my uses as a stockman.  If I'm carrying a knife for bigger jobs it's usually a single blade or jack.  The size of the #47 fits a lot of jobs really well for me--a great all-rounder for sure.

@NutSak -   I hear you. I have two 75 patterns. One is the Yellow Delrin with Carbon Steel just because it is attractive and this Crimson Bone because the price was very reasonable for a nice knife, then grabbed the 47 at same time at a also good price for new.

Exclusives as I understand.  A deal is a deal.
