Gerber sheaths
on: October 06, 2016, 03:04:41 AM
My wife and I were in Portland, OR a couple of weeks ago and came across "Andy and Bax", an army surplus/outdoor shop.  Whilst browsing the store I noticed a couple of bins containing Gerber and Snapon sheaths.  There were two sizes of cordura Gerber sheath along with a number of black leather gerber sheaths.  I did not pay much attention to the snap on sheaths other than to note that they were black with some red trim (or vice versa).  The cordura sheaths were $1 each and the leather sheaths were $2 each.  You will notice the figure written on the back of two of them.  I bought two of each so that I could provide proper photos of front and back together to the members of the forum  ;)

Larger Cordura sheath:

Smaller Cordura sheath:

Leather sheath:

Just to give an idea of size - The larger cordura sheath fits a gerber mp600 and also a SOG powerlock.  The smaller cordura sheath fits a gerber mp400.
The leather sheath will fit a leatherman sidekick with extra length to spare but snug in the body of the sheath.  It will fit a victorinox climber fairly snuggly with quite a bit of room left over for the length.

John.

I might be wrong, but I think that leather sheath goes with a Gerber MPT

Great deals to be had there it seems. That's were I found my Gerber sheath too, for a price I'd easily have paid double. http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,68016.msg1329598.html#msg1329598

For a $1 & $2 dollars I'd say you got a great deal. I was given one of the $1 ones and it works well. I don't keep it on a belt, but I have a tool in it and it houses it just fine ;)
