I think that's an old crate hammer, ezdog? Those were used to open and bang together shipping crates. Popular back in the day, when things were packed in wooden crates and chests. Very cool.

I was just handling one of those down at an antique store, but decided to leave it there. But you have me thinking......

Yep thats what is is!

I work out of a Pouch or Bag most of the time and need to hammer a lot but regular hammers are too big for the pouch usually and not really ideal for my daily stuff anyway.
I came across my first one probably 45 years ago and have ALWAYS carried one since!

Perfect for setting Hollow Wall Anchors,Masonry Anchors,Punching and marking and chipping out drywall, steel and concrete and just about anything a small hammer would do but with no parts to break or wear at all.
Obviously also a great Prybar alone and with a bigger hammer and not bad for Self-Defense either.

So they are ideal for my daily use as I can carry one all the time, everywhere I have my pouch.

Just as useful Today as when they were conceived at least to me!

Great Pouch too!
If it was a Maxpedition it would sell for twice as much too.

Here is another one less loaded up so you can see inside better.

I was downtown today, and after ezdog's tantalizing photos, I decided to pick up that crate hammer I had seen a couple weeks ago. Why, oh why, do I read these threads?

Top to bottom:

  • BiXby "Box Terrier"
  • Crown mallet
  • Estwing 'singing' hammer
  • Lil' pursuader

I call the Estwing my 'singing hammer' because it gives off a piercing ring when striking nails or stubborn bolts. Doesn't happen when I use it to smack coconuts or small kittens.

Just glad I can "Help"!

Also glad I am not the only one easily taunted here......by a long shot clearly. :twak:

Thanks for the pic.  How's the elastic?  Some of those have elastic that don't really stretch.

I have 3 of these and all have been great.
The one with the tools gives the elastic the most stress I guess and is just like new really.
The fabric is much mire flexible than Maxped too snd just a lot for friendlier to me in every way.

Yeah those are all really very nice.   :tu:

Either the kittens were faulty or it's the hammer... try it out on your thumb to discover which.

Cool rock hammer, El P.

They sell those down at the local hardware store. A lot of rock hounds around here.
