That Schweizer Messer guy - the one responsible for the 4 colours of Pioneer X - has an amazing range of colours for regular Pioneers.
This is gorgeous!
(Image removed from quote.)
and so is this...
(Image removed from quote.)

I just wish he made Cadets in these colours. As someone who has no use for an awl or a tin opener, half the tools on the Pioneer are useless to me; the X changes that with the scissors, but still, 2/5ths are dead weight...

I have a couple of unused Xs I don't need - green and blue - they will go up for sale on the Sales part of the forum as soon as I find my camera.

I prefer the Pioneer over the Cadet because I think the awl is more useful than the nail file but do like the size of the Cadet too!  Also as mentioned, I too like the heavier Pioneer blade over the Cadets but really either would work for me!

Heck I could probably get by with just the Solo but I don't have one of those either!  :)  I would really like a Cadet size with either the awl or the small blade in it.

Alox 1 layers on the european market... All on ebay !

All ebay sellers of knives know this problem, if you contact them they will offer a workaround !

Okay, though that can make purchases more risky, no?

My friends collectors in the United Kingdom have never had any problems.  If you pay with paypal, you have the included paypal guarantee and professional sellers Swiss and German are usually very honest.  In any case the first thing to do is to look at feedback from ebay.

That's where you're wrong, mate! They bake the SAK into a cake and post it to a bloke in Belmarsh Prison who passes it on to an associate on visiting day; next time that honourable geezer happens to be cruising through your neighbourhood - whenever that may be - he'll knock on your door, have a butcher's through your net curtains to see if there's anything worth having then plonk the SAK through the letterbox. It's a waterproof deal, mate, 100% legit. Nuffink can go wrong. Literally nuffink!

No ! In a cake it was 10 years ago !
Now in Switzerland they make powder of knives and they ship you a box of "Nescafe" (for customs controls)... Then you add cold water and after 1 minute you have your knife !

...that's right! Couriers hide the sachets in parts of the body where they will never be found then race through the Gotthard Tunnel, trying to outrun the police dogs...meanwhile you go to your local Starbucks, ask for your usual Vanilla Soy Latte Decaf and voila! At bottom of your cup is the SAK of your dreams ...

logo'ed is not really a problem for me, I already have lot of logo'ed knives in my collection, some logo are rares and prized !
On the P-X the "S" of the german is pleasant and the "LCSAS" with the swiss crosses is "so swiss"
On other aloxes, I love also logos like "Albany", "BBC", "Cascades", "Grossen Bacher", "Vita" or "CFF-SBB".
IMO it's just an other way for a collection.
Anyway I'l not sure these colored P-X exist without a logo. Now Victorinox sale only the standard silver and colored aloxes are reserved for societies (special runs) or Victorinox limited series (like the P-X Damascus or the Orchid).

The major philosophical question is: Does the LCSAS Pioneer X count as an "old cross" pioneer? Cos there are 7 old crosses on the back, albeit teensy tiny ones....

The only two who have produced the 'X's in colour so far are SMS and LCSAS. Both have logos on the back. They are 49 Euros at SMS, so $75 (not even BIN) looks pretty high from LCSAS. SMS is currently sold out of Red but more stock coming in around 6 weeks.

All new coloured Alox going to retailers now has to have a logo of some sort, and can only be ordered in Red, Blue, Green or Black (the exception seems to be older colours which are still being supplied to US retailers with no logo - eg Light Blue and Pink Cadets to DLT and CS - formerly short runs from Seitz-Kreuznach in 2015. Also Olive, Orange, Copper Farmers etc).

I have today contacted CS and DLT to see if they have ordered any coloured Pioneer X's for the US market. I would be surprised if US retailers do not order some coloured 'X's as they look like being a good seller.

Yeah, I am not really worried about the logo as long as it is on the name plate and not all over the blade itself!  :)

I will be watching the ones posted to see what price they end up at!

Thx. all.

I've now bought one! Is slightly more pricey than SMS, but I couldn't wait! I also quite like the LCSAS swiss flags logo...

Blimey, the red one is nice. Shame the scissors arrangement on these Xs is so counterintuitive.
Having said that, I did find myself putting one in my shopping basket just to see what it would cost.
For me in Germany the "Livraison" is a snip at 9,00 CHF.
