People forget that there is a lot more to the Hunter XS than two blades and a corkscrew.
Or at least I'm hoping that's the case cos otherwise I'm going to have a hard time using this - and this only - for a month!
First, let me introduce you to the oft-neglected Vignetting Tool.


In this shot the Vignetting tool bulges from the underside of the blade. Don't worry about the fresh pumpkin blood, I'll wash that off later.

Actually the Hunter comes with two Vignetting tools... and later in the month I'll show you why that might be useful but for now, here's the first sunrise of November, photographed this morning just after 7 am.



(Sadly the Hunter has no colour correction feature...and a matt black blade would cut down on reflections, as well as looking badass. Something to think about, Victorinox!)

Day 1.

The weather was fine this morning, I arrived at work whistling and singing but soon found out there was nothing to do.
Season's end is nearing and we're running short of chores.

Having nothing better to do, I had a smoke and a cup of coffee, and made this pic.
The Fireman came out of my pocket once more, after lunchtime, because I needed the toothpick.

And that was all there was to it. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

First day of my challenge was an easy day nothing hardcore. Some assemble of my new pressure washer, the flathead just about fitted the screws.

Since it's called the Hunter, I thought I'd go hunting this cold and nasty morning.


I'm not very good at tracking animals. As far as I can tell these hoof prints are either wild pig, deer, or the devil himself.

Unable to catch any of them, and freezing my tush off, I decided to go home and have cornflakes instead.
But the sun came out which warmed me a bit and made a nice picture.

I was digging out a trench for a foundation for a garden wall when I started to come across roots from a neighbours tree, now I usually grab the lobbers but luckily I had my trusted saw  :D
