Is there a reason that comments are disabled? or am I missing something, not unusual for me lol

There are subtitles.... :P

You are absolutely right, but because I am captioning them I felt it was worth the sufferance to see the pretty stream.  Besides, it's not like anyone really wants to listen to me anyway!  :D

Is there a reason that comments are disabled? or am I missing something, not unusual for me lol

I own a forum- why the smurf would I want to chat with people on YouTube?  :D

Seriously, years ago I had some jackass leave all kinds of nasty comments on some of my stuff (he suggested that me lighting a cigar with a SwissFlame looked like I was performing an oral activity on a person of African descent, although not in those specific terms) and frankly I barely have time to do MTO stuff and I really don't want to spend more of my time policing another site.  If folks want to comment, we have a forum for that.  :D

I went back to adding subtitles, even though it takes a lot of time to do.  Hopefully you all consider it worthwhile.   ...

Yeah, as I wasn't saying much of any importance there, plus the captioning at the bottom I figured it was ok- and well worth it to have the nice area to film in.  That was the only intro I did there, so I won't do it again.

But it was a nice spot to be in, so there.  :D

As I already said, I prefer shorter to the point videos and these are more to my liking than someone who talks for several minutes before even showing what they are discussing :like:

The only issue with this format is that I don't have much of an opportunity to talk about the tool itself, how well ot works, what is good and what is bad, what I like and don't like etc.  But i guess that's why we have more in depth reviews on the Main Site.

Would it be worth giving each vid it's own thread in the relevant sub-section of the forum, and putting a direct link to it on the YouTube page. That way there is the facility for discussion on each vid/tool, and it might be a nice "way in" for new members.

It might also be worth extending the closing frames with a standard "for more reviews, insights and discussion...." voiceover pasted on the end of each clip

You could also do a series of telling more about likes and dislikes of the tools and make them 2 minutes, that way you could get a bit more in depth :tu: We can work a name for it later :D

Beats the multitool twenty minutes most people keep aiming at.
of which 15min is brabble and unpacking, the other 5 is "oooh, wow" and "it LOOKS as if it is a decent tool"

Pretty cool!
 :salute: :tu:

You can have a 60sec. countdown clock when you start talking about the tool. The extra time in the vids is for your presentation.

Get a 60sec. hour(minute?)glass.

(Image removed from quote.)

My plan was to have some kind of graphic on the screen counting down, but that's not an option on Movie Maker, which is the only software I can relly run right now on the poor little netbook/tablet thing I'm using.

An hour glass might not be a bad plan.

I'm not sure that is much of an option for me either.  I'm in a new city and I barely know anyone.  Asking strange women to appear in Internet videos for me might not be a great opening line.... especially when they find out it will involve knives!   :ahhh
