What's everyones favorite 111mm Vic?

The only one I own is the OHT...I'm thinking of grabbing another, maybe a Locksmith or something..

So does anyone EDC a 111mm Vic? Pocket carry? Sheath?

OHT usually, and in an On Scene Tactical kydex rig or a nice leather one that Esteban (Mcniac) made me!

I've never owned the Workchamp XL but I'd like one

With their large locking blades the 111mm line are not very UK friendly so I tend to avoid them. I think the OHT is a great knife and I do have a SGPEOHT that is jolly nice.

Vic Tradesman, apart from scissors it's got everything you could ever need

If it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't legaly edc-able it'd get a lot more carry time

and the Skipper has been drydocked

I also liked the Jumpmaster(Fireman with a backspring Phillips instead of corkscrew) and the Parachutist.But I got them just as I was winding down my career in EMS,and never got the chance to put them through their paces in the real world.

The Swiss OHT is my favorite--the one with the corkscrew on the back. You can see a couple of them here (top left and top right, modded:

The OH Fireman would be perfect, IMO if it had a plain edge blade. Many of the other models would be much better, if not perfect, if they had OH blades.

It's my opinion also that the older OH design is better than the new one with the more circular hole in the blade. The liner lock sticks up too far on the new ones and gets in the way of my index finger when using the blade.

Mine was the OHT with a kydex sheath then it went to a OH Sentinal (which I clipped myself) now it is a Wenger Ranger 61 and after last Thursday it is my EDC of choice...

If you don't mind it being a little bit bigger, that would be a NewRanger 57 (corkscrew) or 58 (phillips).
Both the main blade and the rescue blade are plain-edge.

The NewRangers are more like the old design in the shape of the hole, and the locking mechanism is much better.
The liner lock doesn't stick up at all, because there is a pushbutton to activate it.

Not sure which one I want..the Tradesman might be a little big for pocket carry. My OHT is fine and I think the added layer of the file on the Locksmith would hardly be noticed.

Quick question; Is the main blade layer on the non OH knives thinner than the OH ones, or does it use the same basic locking mechanism?

I believe blade thickness is the same.IIRC,the black scaled 111mm's use the same locking mechanism as the OH knives,and the red scaled use a sliding button on one side.Hopefully someone will post a pic to clarify that.
