Master Ranger is a great name. For something a little less descriptive how about Master Chief (from Halo)?

Both great names Mags :like: I was typing my reply out this whole time ::) :D

I had thought of Master Ranger and since I love the Ranger so much and this name does make since for it

So forth shall your mod and mine be called the Master Ranger  :SAKnight:

 8)

By the way how does it feel in hand compared to the Ranger  It looks like a great size and I am use to the size of the Ranger so just wonder if it felt to much bigger with the a phillips mag layer

Master Ranger it is... :SAKnight:

Funny you asked... been carrying it today and it feels as thick as the Handyman (my first sak)... definitely bigger with 6 layers...

My dream work SAK would be one with openers layer, blade layer, saw layer (with technician's driver on back), and the pruner/electrician layer from the XLT, which is a shame that it isn't on a thinner knife, it's the only tool exclusive to the larger SwissChamps I don't find useless.

Poncho,

As promised... here are the side by side comparison pics...

(L-R) Ranger, Master Ranger, Handyman, Champion

Obviously the Master Ranger is thicker compared to the Ranger since adding the inline phillips layer.

Master Ranger is thinner than the Handyman. Difference being inline phillips i/o plyers.

Master Ranger is also thinner compared to the Champion since it lacks the fish scaler.

Thanks very much for that jaya :dd: :like:

It's more exciting now that I have seen one in real life built   :D

Love that it is slimmer than the Champion and Handyman :o :like: :like:

ABSOLUTELY will, but that will be it's own thread. Have to be patient though guys and gals,as I'm caring for a friend who just had a knee replacement. I'm as impatient as you are to 'Git  er done'.

My buddy's going to buy the modded OHT, I'm keeping the Fireman. Should be close to $0.00 net not counting pinstock and tooling (needed that anyway)

Looking forward to seeing our dream SAK poncho  :salute:

Mine is pretty much the Greenwood. The only thing I would change is to add a metal file - aside from that it's perfect for me.

SNIP

So that's a modified woodsman with an added side-awl and an inline phillips? Who made such a beauty.
