I find the Spirit scissors are more like mini snips than scissors.  They're stiffer and more positive than on a 91mm SAK (or the Swisstool, for that matter) and although they don't open very wide, how often do you actually need to cut really thick material?  I do find the left-handedness of the scissor frustrating sometimes, but really only when I'm cutting my nails - and the Rambler on my keys works much better for nails anyway.

If you want to widen the scissors it's a pretty easy mod to do.

Just used the Spirit's scissors to cut a thin ribbon for my christmas tree decorations and it works good. But for my nails I prefer the scissors on my Manager.

Day 5. Sorry for the uninspired pic. End of the semester so I've been grading papers all day...busy, busy.

Day 5

Today's picture contains my "workshop". Some pictures of my current project (Christmas gift Executive for my girlfriend) will come in the mod section. The candy tin is there for waste management, quite important in a small apartment.

Re: scissors, I like them. After the little mod, they have about the same functional cutting area as 91mm scissors. They (Spirit) seem more robust and precise than other SAK scissors. Now for something like trimming nose or ear hair, I'd rather have 58mm scissors. I don't have a problem using my thumb or forefinger to cut with them, but if you had to cut a lot with them for a long time they wouldn't be comfortable.

Day 5

Carry for today, at least during the day. Had to dress up tonight, so the Spirit had to stay behind, and that's where the small tinker came in.

May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

The calendar says it's Day 6 but looking out the window I am not convinced.
Here's some big fat mushrooms which look like they're made of chocolate. Though they're probably not.

No, I prefer this picture just so you can see how bloody cold it is right now.
