Help identify this older Gerber Multi-tool, I think it's a MP400 of some variety

So this was the first multi-tool I ever had.  My brother gave it to me as a Christmas present back in the mid to late 90's, I don't remember the exact year.  It lived in my backpack and was used many at time to keep my old pieced together commuter bike functional while commuting to/from Grad School  (Ohio snow and salt is hard on a bike).  It later was replaced with upgraded tools but I still have it and use this on occasion.  But as my multi-tool collection has grown I realize that I am not sure exactly what this tool is.  I can't seem to find anything about this specific model on Gerber's tool archive.  Any addition info would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Don't know much about Gerbers, but I believe that is an early (maybe first release?) Mutli-Plier, AKA Mr. Pinchy.

So is there an official name for the "Mr Pinchy" model?  What years was this model made?

Its just "Gerber Multi-Plier".
I think it was originally released in 1992.
Don't remember when they stopped making it. Its predesessor to MP600.

Mr. Pinchy is an informal name we came up with years ago because the handles cone together too close and often pinch the flesh of your hand, sometimes even causing a nasty blood blister.

We actually have a Mr. Pinchy merit badge because Mr. Pinchy is a multitool for only the bravest users out there!   :ahhh

Great info, thanks for sharing.  From reading that I am pretty sure my Mr Pinchy is a V2.1.  It has socket head button screws on the sliders and a bushing on the pliers with the patent number stamped on both handles.  Thanks.
