Fitting Charge ALX plier heads into Rebar?
on: November 15, 2016, 08:29:00 PM
So I did the Rebar plier conversion to my Charge ALX and it worked great, *however* I was hoping to then put the Charge pliers into my Rebar and then gift it to my young nephew.

But when I went to fit the pliers into the Rebar I realized that the holes cannot be made to line up... Something to do with the grooves cut into the 'heel' of the pliers I think (forgive my not knowing the nomenclature plz!)

If anyone has a solution for this I'd be grateful!

If not - well then I guess I have a bunch of Rebar parts for sale!

First welcome to the forum

They should fit, you might have to squeeze the plier head into the handle as you try to line up the hole for the pivot bolt.

Hi!
Thanks for the Welcome - I should've said "Hi" ;-)

I'll check again when I get home... But I tried pretty hard and couldn't even get one side's hole to line up.

Most likely Operator Error ;-p will check in later with results.

Cheers
B

It will fit, I did it to my Rebar although I've since changed it back.

Thanks everyone!

One more thing... I *might* have accidentally vacuumed up one of the sleeve and 'bolt' that fasten the pliers  :P
Wondering if there's somewhere on the site I can ask around about getting replacements?

If you have a magnet you might try to find them because they can be hard to source.

+1 Yes if it is possible at all to retrieve it then I would try :tu: Otherwise you still may just have spare parts for a Rebar :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
