Is it any good MMR  :tu:

It’s handy because I use my calendar a lot and I get all the notifications about meetings/ events on the watch too, and I can see who’s calling and answer on the watch (and that way use it as a hands free when I am driving).

I don’t personally care about all the running apps and they just nuke the already short battery life on it too.

I like it because I am kind of a tech nerd and I like all the technical stuff and technical side of things, but I still think the €400 (or whatever they cost) is way to high.

Lately I have been kind of moving away from Apple products in general. I used to work for Apple and they treated me like a doormat, and I have never seen management as bad as what I have seen at Apple either.....

...but regardless of my personal opinion about them as a company, I think their computers and phones have gone insanely expensive, for a decent spec MacBook Pro your are looking at €2500 and for an iPhone you are looking at around €1000 too

My current phone is an iPhone 8plus and it’s from 2017, so hopefully it will last a few more years, but when it is time to change I’d be looking at maybe a Sony Expedia or something like that. I want to avoid Samsung because of how expensive they are in parts...I only know that because I fix phones as a “side job”

Computer wise I’d just be going back to windows, for my needs I can get well spec’ed out one for around €1000

I sold my iPad because it was kind of redundant when I already have an iPhone and a MacBook Pro, but I kind of miss it at times.

I especially miss having an iPad when I am traveling or for taking notes at meetings

I like my iPad mini as well, although the battery is going on mine. Unlike the watch for today and tomorrow because a new battery was delivered today (just like aimless).

This one is 7 years older than the Pulsar. The more observant will have noticed the ’T’ under the CWC logo. That means it has the old radioactive tritium luminous compound on the dial and hands. The Pulsar has an ’L’ which stands for Luminova (non radioactive).

I like my iPad mini as well, although the battery is going on mine.

They are possible to change yourself, but a bit of a PITA compared to an iPhone, because the screen is glued on and is easy to damage when removing it.

A heat pad usually helps with softening glue, which makes it easier to remove without damaging.

However the replacement battery is pretty inexpensive

I've done a few iphone batteries in the past, but there's the new mini coming out so I may just go for that

You can pick them up for not a huge amount second hand or buy them new from the Cabot Watch Company.

Or you could have joined the forces in the 80’s or 90’s and got issued one :tu:

Look for the GS (general service) watch CWC (obviously). They'll be priced between £100 and £500 depending on condition, who they were issued to etc.

Good grief! They've gone up in price!  :o They were £40-£60 last I looked... that was probably about ten years ago though.

I've got the civilian version of the CWC (can't remember what it's called - I haven't got it on at the moment) and it's a great watch.

If it's the MWC its not connected to CWC.

I'm pretty sure CWC don't supply service watches anymore. They’re either citizen, I think, or the Elliot Brown Horton. To get the Horton you have to pretty smurfing special. Or you buy one.

Well, the kids delivery finally came, 8 freaking pm! Anyway, here’s his watch, no hands, no digital, just led.. in order to activate it you have to just tap it, then the lights spin around then land on what the time is, in this case 8:05, but it says if you tap it up to 15 times a day the battery will last about 1yr.

Newark 6BB on a claret G10, I wasn't sure about the colour of this strap when I bought it. But it's really grown on me

I like that, Mark. I'd be far more likely to wear that, than many of your brighter ones

Brighter straps or watches?

Thanks, I think this strap will work well with a few of my watches :tu:

Straps. Some of your others would be too bright for my tastes, but I do like that dark red.
