In 1975 while Tim Leatherman and his wife were travel abroad. they bought a untrustworthy $300.00 ____ car that helped inspire the need for a plier based multitool.. What was the brand of car?      :)

I believe it was a FIAT (sometimes unkindly referred to as Fix It Again, Tony, or Foul Italian, Always Trouble)

Bingo! Your question Greg.

OK.

The SOG Powerlock MT had two different styles of locking mechanism for the component tools.  What was the difference between the two ?

Great question!  So obvious if you know it, maybe even too obvious for anyone to realize it!  :D

Such a great question, and the answer is almost musical!

The older ones had only a single lock while the newer ones have individual locking bars right?

Correctamundo, we have another winner !    :tu:   :D

The individual locking bars were often called "piano locks" because they looked like piano keys all lined up together.

Over to you for the next question ..............

It doesn't have to be fancy or tricky, in fact it can be a really easy question - just look at your MTs or SAKs and think of a question ......

No worries, here's an interim question until something strikes you!

What company was started by ad advertising executive that was inspired to get into knife sales after the butcher knives he gave clients for Christmas were so well recieved?

Alright this one is going to be kinda silly but.....Both the sog powerlock and ST300 have similar locking mechanisms...What are three differences between the two systems?

Seems like a pretty cool question to me!

I'll have to dig out both of mine and check, and I doubt I'd be the only one.

Great question  :tu:

I don't have a Powerlock but looking at pics it seems.

The Powerlock's locking tab is held on by a separate pin and attaches to the outside of the tool with fold over tabs, The ST's pins are integrated as part of the tab and attaches via a hole in the frame. The Powerlock's tension spring is a separate piece riveted on and the spring on the Supertool is cut out of the frame.

Yes!...and the locking tab on a powerlock is stamped while the locking bar on a ST300 is cast :)

Gonna say 8 :tu: The awl is used for either making holes in softer type materials (leather, wood, plastic etc. and or sewing heavy thick guage leather :tu:
