We need simpler, MTO specific, questions.....

The question was 'scale' variations, not just color variations. Numerous others, including black Mauser, green German army, green Dutch army, green NATO, red fireman. There are also rumors of black German police and grey German navy.

99.9% sure there isn't a Dutch army variation with the 108mm, there are only 93mm and 111mm DAKs.

I'm very curious about the German Police versions you mention, anybody has one of these?

Was thinking of the larger Dutch knives, but double-checked and no 108mm Dutch knife. There is a 91mm Dutch military knife (Master Craftsman) with alox handles. (below)

Have heard from several sources about the black German police knife, but have never seen one. Doug Dillman of Freeport Knife (now Casco Bay cutlery) claims to have a grey version of the standard German military 108mm that was issued to the German navy. Don't know if it was a test run or what.

Now that you mention the 91mm KM (Koninklijke Marine, =Royal Navy) I know there is also a blue one with KLU on it (Koninklijke Luchtmacht, =Royal Air Force) :salute:

I guess the next two questions are:

1- Have we satisfied the original question?

2-  Who was the first person to give the accepted answer?

So my question was more specific to scale types of GAK 108mm knives, such as color and material, not shield variations. So far nobody has gotten all correct, but they have however informed me of a bunch of new scale variations that I didn't even know about. If they had both real and fake stag, then I think Ronald's post should be counted as correct. If not I'll give it to glen for the black scales. I was looking for red nylon, green nylon, stag, and then a darker shade of red nylon.

If they are so inclined let both Ronald and Glen ask a question and since we haven't had many SAK based questions it would be good of both of then asked a SAK question   :like:

There are both real and imitation stag handles on the 108s.  The real stag can be told by the use of brass pins; the imitation ones are glued on.

I have a question, but not 100% certain that my answer is correct....

Which multitool carries the most screwdriver options on it?

Clue:

The number of drivers is into double figures

I have a tool in mind, but if anyone comes up with a tool which carries more screwdriver options on it, they win  :D

Not a practical tool, but the Wenger Giant has a number of regular screwdrivers plus two socket screwdriver sets. Also a set of Miathor micro screwdrivers.

Those bit kits aren't on the tool, they're carried separately  ;)

Karl might have picked a different tool with more drivers than I had in mind.... but I don't know how many were on the Giant

Not sure how many screwdrivers are actually on the Giant.  I count eleven, plus two sight adjustment tools. Two sets of six double-ended socket screwdrivers, and  three Minathor screwdriver bits. Not sure I got them all. There are several different versions of the Giant, so other people's counts may vary.

Toward the end of production for the 1951 Soldier knife, Wenger introduced a synthetic (non-fiber) handle material. What was the material's name, and what was it?

OK I perused the SAKwiki  and came up with Grilon handles  If that is right there needs to be an edit adding that to the 51 model page :D Reason I say this is because the answer is on another page  :D

Halfway there. What is Grilon? (that part should be easy)

Just checked the Wenger 1951 page and Grilon is listed under variations.
