Hello.  I was looking into which portable tools can be used to get through chain link fence & came across this site.  I was glad to see the R & D section, as I have an idea that I want to get made (at least 1 or 2 for myself).  Just thought I'd check in & say hello.

Would still like an answer to the fence question, though.  I heard the Wave, Juice, and Freestyle CX worked.  Also Swisstools (which were held in a league of their own with that).  I heard some things about medical shears, which I remember hearing are used to get through police/military cable ties with the metal in them (which seems to harden when a captive is struggling in them).

Welcome aboard

As far as cutting chain link I would suggest the Supertool 300 , Surge or the Rebar with their replaceable cutters .

Welcome aboard!

As far as cutting fence goes I would suggest a Supertool 300, but would also suggest going with something that is not a multitool. The Knipex mini bolt cutter is designed for that and will do it all day long. Its not very large either. About the same as a Supertool 300.

If you are trying to access an enemy compound without lugging heavy tools along I'd agree that the tools with carbide cutter inserts would be ideal.  If cutting chain link fence is a fairly regular activity for you then I would strongly suggest you get a decent set of dedicated cutters. I have a set of these and they would probably work quite well for you.
