Well, yesterday was the local portion of the VEX Robotics Competition. It was nice to see the 3 teams that my school fielded having a grand time. It makes giving up my lunchtime all the more worthwhile when you see everyone having fun competing. This time, we had a few more Catholic schools show up from last year. Some of the teams travel quite some distance to participate as well.
Here is the play-field for this years game. The game is called Starstruck. I took this photo early before the games started.

And one photo of two robots that competed from different schools..

My school didn't make it to the Provincials, but then, most of the fun is in the STEM learning that goes on during the design, build, and competition. I ended up being the event photographer once the organizer noticed I had brought my camera to record some of my team's events for the school yearbook. All in good fun. Next are the grade 7/8 VEX IQ competitions happening next month. I am fielding hopefully 3 teams again this year. I say hopefully as one of the teams is behind in their robot build.
