Now I did it!
on: April 13, 2024, 05:01:55 PM

A deal  notification was  provided a week ago, and I made  like hound and sniffed it out.

A Ranger for half off

I was intrigued, a 5 layer, looked much smaller than my Craftsman, a corkscrew and some nice back side options. Small flat screw driver, a hook, awl, and a CHISEL!

Then there is the combo file, wood on one side and metal on the other and an edge for cutting steel.

So for less $ than a SPORTSMAN I made an impulse buy.  Even tried to cancel, but told it could not be. To late?

Darn thing, I like this, not for EDC, but to ride in my daily bag, pair up with a Plier type tool.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

An impulse buy can work out quite well.
Good job.

:tu: :iagree:  I don't have a Ranger anymore but I was just thinking about one while hiking yesterday  :D. It's a great tool set that actually fits comfortably in your pocket.  I have the Master Craftsman and the Craftsman.  The Ranger is a Master Craftsman with the backside screwdriver.  I'd rather have the corkscrew...it does a lot of things well!

I am one who likes the cork screw and have used it much more than the backside Phillips.

The file and chisel are the two tools I look forward to making use of.

The five layer, was a concern, but nope not that big for is offered.

My Climber and Spartan share space in a  LM sheath and  a Small mag lite in a side tube.  The Ranger adds a whole new dimension for my SAK option.

Glad it was not cancel when I attempted. 😉

Me too Gordon.  I probably use the corkscrew to undo knots more than open bottles these days

Good job.  I like the Ranger, too.  Sounds like a great deal.

You know, I used to like the backside phillips more but I actually like the corkscrew much more now because it can hold that tiny screwdriver. I actually find I use that screwdriver more than the backside phillips because my wife wears glasses (had the same pair for 12 years; can't for the life of me get her to get a new pair...) and the screws are constantly coming loose, so I get to swoop in and make another comment about "see? Just look how much I use this SAK -- wasn't a waste of money at all, I promise!"

Very nice LC. You will love that file, it is a very nice tool to have.  I use mine all the time.

The chisel is one backtool I have never found the occasion to really use. Heck of a scoring/scraping tool though.
