Fisherman for today.  I don't have so many four layer knives, and two of them are held together with rubber bands so I can have an ersatz SwissChamp for Sunday.  Best wishes.  G  ;)

Explorer magnifying glass and tweezers make short work of thorn splinter! :tu:

I've got the same Lochby pouch and I love it. That reminds me, I should do a load out picture and post. It has come in handy many times.

I almost threw my Deluxe Tinker in my pocket today. It wasn't too keen on leaving the table by my recliner in order to come to work with me.

Time to reignite this thread! Here’s my multicolored Explorer for Four Layer Friday. It used to be yellow until it accidentally got dropped and the front scale cracked.

It has been a while between Four Layers.  One of my favorite SAKs.  Huntsman.  This one is black, obviously.  Thanks for bringing this thread back.  Best wishes.  Gary

I too am glad to see this Friday thread revived.  This is a Huntsman that showed up when I went on a spree to buy a few of these to gift to family members.  I had arrived at the conclusion that this  combination of tools met our needs.  About a month later, other models became objects of lust ….   er SAK-aholic addiction.  I’m sure there is no one on this board fits that diagnosis.   :dunno:

I recently made my ultimate 4 layer. Yeoman MS. I used all new parts so it is very similar to how it would be if Vic made it now.

I love a 4 layer SAK, although I prefer the Alox stuff  :D

That said; I carried my DT & Gerber SD for the World Driving Tour Challenge today (not much redundancy )

Now I'm glad that I built 4 layers. At first I wanted to install 3 layers without a metal file and the combo tool but the small nail file instead.
Now I really like it that way. except for my rookie mistakes. Sorry, it's only my 3rd mod.

Got them from BarnesCraftDesigns on Etsy. These are not plus scales. I don't know of he's ever done plus scales

I hadn't really planned on doing a 4 layer post, but friend Jeff made such a nice one I might as well.  Anybody else ever use one of these automatic fly reels?  Wind up the outside case like a clock?  Push the switch to take up the slack.  In a hurry.  Best wishes.  G

It appears you have a nice collection of vintage literature.  They make excellent backing for your SAK’s.

It is raining with temps in the high 40's.  Fahrenheit, of course.  I couldn't do an outdoor photo, so I used whatever was handy.  What is the tactical pen looking thing in your wife's kit, Jeff?  Looks like she is well equipped.  I'm going to have to get a little flashlight somewhere.  Best wishes.  G

Gary - High 40’s here too, but, clear.  Rain Tomorrow.
It is a tactical pen with a glass breaker on the other end.  When my best friend passed, his wife gave me his bug-out bag.  This pen was inside.  No idea where he got it.  Here is a picture. Wife’s small light is an  olight 1R2Pro.  It is a “2 speed” rechargeable.
I have  streamlight Defender LED and a Streamlight Nano.

Cute story (to me) about the Nano: where I used to work required us to carry a flashlight as an emergency egress light should the construction lighting in the ship fail.  Between note pads, tape measures, ear muffs, gloves, hard hat, etc. I put the Nano on my lanyard next to my ID badge.  Standard issue was a 2 or 3 d cell light. A few times I got “challenged” by  either safety or some level of management about “where is your egress light?”  Their first reaction to the Nano was “thats nfg” until they saw the light brightness.  One even escorted me off the ship with the lit nano in his hand and learned about the run time.  He then decided he needed information on where to get one.

Yes, I may have to check out the flashlights.  By the way there is a flashlight carry badge available if you decide you would like one.  I don't know why I said it was in the high 40F range here.  It started out as just below 40F today and still isn't quite up to 40F.  Ice accumulation for higher elevations in the county have been predicted.  I liked the flashlight story.  Best wishes.  G

I’ll look into the flashlight badge soon.  I am a bit of a flash-a-holic, too.  Ooops, clarifying the flashlight kind.

My next target is the 111mm level 1 badge.  Having trouble sizing the photo so the forum will accept it.
